OH MY FUCKING GOD, these fucking people are the ones who complain about "tankie" censorship while simultaneously banning anyone who doesn't adhere to their anticommunist unfalsifiable orthodoxy. They use the same talking points all the time, which we've debunked COUNTLESS TIMES, and REFUSE to listen to any points we make. Extremely weird understanding of politics, double standards for what counts as censorship, absolutely 0 effort to try to understand what Dessalines is trying to say, no consistency in terms in general. I'm so glad I only have to see the 1/400 people that come here rather than existing in that space. Literally worse than /r/neoliberal.

I hadn't put it together yet, but I'm realizing that "tankie" is just the liberal version of "woke". Much like conservatives call anyone left of them "woke", liberals call anyone left of them "tankie".

There were different blocs. There were both weirdo libs and anti-Deng Maoists/ultras involved, who wanted diametrically opposite things. The western liberal narrative is that the maoists were a small bloc (if they acknowledge them at all) and the liberals were the bulk of the protesters, and AFAIK the ultra narrative is that the maoists were the main movement and the liberals were tangentially present wreckers.
