  • On Friday (yesterday) the White House released a statement calling for a 37 billion dollar investment in law enforcement and the recruitment of 100,000 additional cops.

We can’t stop now. My Safer America Plan calls on Congress to invest $37 billion to support law enforcement and crime prevention, including by funding 100,000 additional police officers for accountable community policing, investing $5 billion in community violence interventions, and enacting commonsense gun safety reforms such as a ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines and a universal background check requirement.

(and yes, I am actually stuck at this fucking thing. No spoilers please.)

What classic games am I overlooking?

I'm gifting my friend's child a handheld emulator and loading it up with games. It's capable of playing things pretty much up to Nintendo GameCube (It's even running Twilight Princess, though it studders in some areas).

I've got pretty much everything that exists for NES, SNES, N64, as well as a couple dozen games for Genesis. I never had a Sega Saturn or a PS / PS2 growing up though and I'm wondering what I should grab for those, as well as some more obscure GameCube titles if there are any I should know about.

Here's your chance to wax nostalgic about some old games and help ensure they make it into a kid's present. Even if I have the game already, I can still throw suggestions into the "favorites" list and make them easier to find.

Volkswagen uses a defeat device to detect when it's being tested in a CI server and will automatically reduce errors to an acceptable level for the tests to pass. This will allow you to spend less time worrying about testing and more time enjoying the good life as a trustful software developer. > >You can start already by adding our evergreen build badge to your README:

Endless Sky is a Free Software (GPLv3) 2D space exploration game

It's a tiny bit entrepreneur-brained, but seems pretty cool regardless. You can choose several paths, from passenger transportation to cargo to piracy to mercenary work. Lots of user contributed lore and all sorts of shit going on. You start with a small ship and an odious loan and try to build up an entire fleet. I've only scratched the surface so far, but it seems like a pretty neat rabbit hole.

Pinging reactionaries and dunking on them in the replies is a classic time-tested form of revolutionary praxis

    > Communist tabloids that published workers’ correspondence offer another, more personalized view of radical consciousness. The Party’s broad range of publications provided black Alabamians with a national forum to voice their collective and individual grievances, to lash out against their oppressors, and to articulate their own vision of an alternative world. Complaints from SCU members, which usually began with “I am writing a protest against my landlord,” described in detail sharecroppers’ daily treatment and closed by naming the landlord in question for the purpose of mobilizing readers from across the country to send postcards and letters of protest. The anonymity of the letters freed rural blacks, more commonly young men, to use an angrier, more profane voice than they would have used openly in their own communities, especially in confrontations with landlords or other white authority figures.
