Biden saying the US won't supply weapons to attack Rafah is a non-statement. On paper, virtually all of the munitions the US gives Israel, which they use to genocide Palestinians, are supposedly for self-defense against Iran, and there's no indication that the US will stop doing that
- Opt out of the arbitration agreement within 1 month of registering by sending something like this to arbitration-opt-out@discord.com
- Don't use the official desktop client, which is very bad for privacy. Use ArmCord (unlike other third-party clients like Ripcord, no one has been banned for using ArmCord), which is open source and blocks Discord's trackers.
- Disable everything in the How we use your data section of the Privacy & Safety settings
- Disable everything in the Activity Privacy settings so it doesn't scan your computer to detect games that are running
- Assume everything you put on Discord is public information, data mining companies pay Discord for your data.
It used to be called chapo.chat until a poll came up to change the name. IMO keeping it named chapo.chat would be better for name recognition, since Hexbear began in 2020 as a lifeboat from r/ChapoTrapHouse when reddit banned it for supporting John Brown's violence against slave owners

The repo got taken down due to DMCA and the user is blocked, so you wouldn't see anything there, even if you did log in.
Forgive Steven, he has a very low verbal IQ. [...] He just takes everything you say literally.
The author seems to be avoiding mentioning autism, but since they're trying to reduce someone's likelihood to interpret things literally as a function of IQ scores the author ends up stil referencing autism, just misrepresenting it.
It is common for autistic people to have a relatively high verbal IQ and relatively low non-verbal IQ, yet still have a tendency to interpret things literally. The cause isn't IQ at all, it's autism.
Good idea! I whipped up a small site for this purpose, let me know what you think

I watch using
- chatterino for chat, and
- mpv + streamlink for video
and apparently I used one of these countries for a VPN at one point, because I permanently have no Twitch ads when I give streamlink the authorization header for my Twitch account.
If you do watch in-browser, there are some ways to still get no ads.
But if you're talking about blocking all of the non-ad popups, here's my uBO filter list for Twitch

This idiotic behavior is making me feel ashamed for being a lefty 😭
On a positive note, it’s helping me feel more empathy for conservatives & people frustrated with wokeness
Just remember. Not all leftists are pro jihad nutjobs

From https://programming.dev/post/3666732 , Dessaline's Lemmy 0.19 Breaking Changes thread.
The comment was removed from lemmy.ml, and the user got a 7-day lemmy.ml ban for violating lemmy.ml's rule 2 (be respectful when disagreeing).
The new instance-blocking feature might not be all bad if it means instances that blocked Hexbear based on a !i-voted before (like feddit.de) now consider unblocking Hexbear because individual users can now (once their own Lemmy instance upgrades to Lemmy 0.19) block entire instances, if they choose.
This obviously doesn't apply to instances where an admin blocked Hexbear out of the admin's own deep-seated need to purge anyone to the left of themselves.
A kbin user has the most upvoted comment chain on that post.

(WASHINGTON) – Today, the Teamsters reached the most historic tentative agreement for workers in the history of UPS, protecting and rewarding more than 340,00
> UPS has put $30 billion in new money on the table as a direct result of these negotiations. We’ve changed the game, battling it out day and night to make sure our members won an agreement that pays strong wages, rewards their labor, and doesn’t require a single concession. This contract sets a new standard in the labor movement and raises the bar for all workers.
Highlights of the tentative 2023-2028 UPS Teamsters National Master Agreement include:
-
Historic wage increases. Existing full- and part-time UPS Teamsters will get $2.75 more per hour in 2023, and $7.50 more per hour over the length of the contract.
-
Existing part-timers will be raised up to no less than $21 per hour immediately, and part-time seniority workers earning more under a market rate adjustment would still receive all new general wage increases.
-
General wage increases for part-time workers will be double the amount obtained in the previous UPS Teamsters contract — and existing part-time workers will receive a 48 percent average total wage increase over the next five years.
-
Wage increases for full-timers will keep UPS Teamsters the highest paid delivery drivers in the nation, improving their average top rate to $49 per hour.
-
Current UPS Teamsters working part-time would receive longevity wage increases of up to $1.50 per hour on top of new hourly raises, compounding their earnings.
-
New part-time hires at UPS would start at $21 per hour and advance to $23 per hour.
-
All UPS Teamster drivers classified as 22.4s would be reclassified immediately to Regular Package Car Drivers and placed into seniority, ending the unfair two-tier wage system at UPS.
-
Safety and health protections, including vehicle air conditioning and cargo ventilation. UPS will equip in-cab A/C in all larger delivery vehicles, sprinter vans, and package cars purchased after Jan. 1, 2024. All cars get two fans and air induction vents in the cargo compartments.
-
All UPS Teamsters would receive Martin Luther King Day as a full holiday for the first time.
-
No more forced overtime on Teamster drivers’ days off. Drivers would keep one of two workweek schedules and could not be forced into overtime on scheduled off-days.
-
UPS Teamster part-timers will have priority to perform all seasonal support work using their own vehicles with a locked-in eight-hour guarantee. For the first time, seasonal work will be contained to five weeks only from November-December.
-
The creation of 7,500 new full-time Teamster jobs at UPS and the fulfillment of 22,500 open positions, establishing more opportunities through the life of the agreement for part-timers to transition to full-time work.
-
More than 60 total changes and improvements to the National Master Agreement — more than any other time in Teamsters history — and zero concessions from the rank-and-file.
As you can see on Lemmy dev parentis_shotgun [https://old.reddit.com/user/parentis_shotgun/overview]’s profile, they were very active plugging Lemmy and answering questions in the Apolo dev’s thread [https://old.reddit.com/r/apolloapp/comments/13ws4w3/had_a_call_with_reddit_to_discuss_pricing_bad/?s...
I mentioned yesterday that a Lemmy dev was busy plugging Lemmy in the Apollo thread about :reddit-logo:'s API pricing. The reddit admins r/apolloapp mods went and deleted 118 of their 120 comments:

> They were well-received, with 3 of their comments getting over 400 upvotes. However, reddit admins r/apolloapp mods must have noticed that reddit is bleeding users to Lemmy, because all but 2 of parentis_shotgun's 120 comments (one about Beehaw and one about Microsoft) in that thread are removed.
:reddit-logo: knows its days are numbered, their IPO later this year will fall flat on its face
Edit: Someone @ImOnADiet on Lemmygrad says it was just r/apolloapp mods
