Body-camera footage showing the fatal police shooting of Sonya Massey, a 36-year-old Black woman who had called 911 for help, was released Monday in a case that has led to murder charges against a deputy.
Apologies, I didn't intend to minimize what happened. I am fully aware this was murder. I went ahead and changed what I said up top, thanks for the criticism.
She was making some kind of joke or something after the cops started ordering her around, then the cops interpreted it as some kind of threat ????? and pulled their guns
How fast can a little old lady move with a pot of boiling water that requires you to "stand your ground" instead of just... walking out the front door?
It is unclear why Grayson changed jobs so frequently and CNN has reached out to the other law enforcement agencies for more information.
Four other police departments are breathing a sigh of relief right now.

They always assume the worst too, she had the pot of water in her hands and saying weird religious shit = zomg she was going to kill me!
She takes the boiling pot to the sink to empty it and the cop runs away.
She mockingly asks "Where you going?" because it's obviously clownish that he just ran away from her like that. Genuinely fucking ridiculous behaviour to assume she was going to do something nasty with it.
Dude says it straight that he's running from her with the pot of water.
She says "I rebuke you in the name of jesus", very obviously calling him out for racism.
They interpret this as a threat that she's about to throw the pot on them and shoots her in the head for it, when it very obviously was not that.
They just wanted an excuse to murder someone, no matter how bad it is. Had the other guy also ""forgotten"" to turn his cam on I bet this would have worked, too.
It's cut out of the video CNN posted, but I (unfortunately) saw a different cut on twitter that showed the actual shooting. The first thing the non-shooter does after the murder is tell the shooter that his camera was running, clearly implying THAT was the actual problem of what just happened.

That's a "oh fuck this murder just happened on cam".
Dude that actually shot her probably thought both were off, knowing full well his was off. Other dude probably wouldn't have opened fire knowing his was on.
DO NOT call the police. They will and can just come into your home and shoot you over anything and have immunity from the court. I know I'm preaching to the choir here but especially if you're black as we see here in the footage they can and will kill you over nothing.
all cops should be literally tarred and feathered - i'm talking the real shit too, but boiling hot tar is almost too kind of a torture than these assholes deserve.
SHE CALLED YOU!!! WHY WOULD YOU SHOOT HER EVEN IF SHE WAS AGITATED (SHE FUCKING WASN'T) - JUST LEAVE. SHE CALLED YOU AND YOU SHOOT HER IN THE HEAD (AND LITERALLY LET HER DIE INSTEAD OF 'WASTING' A MEDICAL KIT)
Tarring and feathering is usually fatal because it causes 3rd degree burns over your entire body that can't be cleaned. So, I mean, not too bad. Personally I'd recommend tying them up, stacking tires around them and lighting them the fuck up with gasoline. A bullet to the head is too kind.
Not sure if anyone's mentioned it yet, but pause the video with the guy whose bodycam this is where his right arm is outstretched (at 36 seconds); very interesting tattoo there; of German origin perhaps?
It looks like an adaptation of Aegishjalmur, a Norse rune of protection, with the symbols modified a bit. To what effect I'm not sure, but taken in context I don't believe they're there for a wholesome reason, especially knowing how fond white supremacists are of Nordic mythology and symbolism
If you're afraid someone is going to throw boiling water at you, simply leave? Move out of thrown pot of water range? What the fuck is wrong with cops that not only do they go out of their way to murder people like this, but they (successfully) make up these ridiculous fucking excuses for why it was totally necessary?
I would sentence this guy to literally being boiled to death if I were the king or whatever
Watching the longer version of the video and seeing the point where the officer's hand starts violently shaking while he breathes heavily and then some guys ask him if he's okay and he just says "yeah I'm fine".... (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSN0cqzl__4&rco=1&t=25m20s) Like maybe this is part of why men are responsible for 90% of homicides? Like maybe cops should be getting a little more training in psychology before they get handed a gun yknow?
Also, comparing this to the way Chicago cops handle shooting people is interesting. They are so incredibly methodical about finding everyone who was involved, telling them to STFU while the cameras are on, meeting with a supervisor and confirming they are clear to cut the cameras. It's incredibly chilling how efficient they are. See, for example, the videos here: https://www.chicagocopa.org/case/2024-0003052/

Cops are, at least in fascist western states, designed to be death dealers and are only competent when rich influential bourgeois are involved (i.e. they can kill as many plebs as desired but must always respect private property interests).
