  • Many times I've had someone I know call me while almost in tears about how their expensive new phone gives them a headache and they can't return it because it's leased through a carrier, they're locked into a contract, and the carrier refuses to make a swap.

  • Knew a guy that thought using "vis à vis" whenever he could made him sound smarter, but he said it with a weird stress on the first syllable and rushed it all together, so everyone referred to him as "Visa-vee" in passing behind his back

  • Ooh, idk why but that reminded me

Friend's friend's bandmate that always pronounced the music gear brand Ibanez like the last name "Ibañez"

(To be fair I'm pretty sure that one was at least actually right at some point, but everyone says "eye-buh-nez" instead of"eee-bahn-yez")

This is a good thing but I'm Deathcornerpilled and immediately 👁️'d and thought of the Semi-Autonomous Ground Environment, Boeing, the Bowmark missile as a continuation of the V2 rocket program, the Phoenix Program, the internet as DARPAnet, and the "rules based international order" as the Fourth Reich

  • Anybody have a good report on the Khakhovka Dam collapse from last June? Had a discussion/disagreement with a pro-Ukraine guy irl about stuff after the golf course Trump would-be assassin turned out to be a deranged NAFO guy and the irl guy was trying to deflect about "Russian imperialism" at the same time he was claiming "Putin is doing scorched earth tactics purely out of vindictive national hatred of the Ukrainian people" and claimed Russia destroyed the dam just to flood out the region downstream of it to ruin infrastructure.

I don't know enough about it to push back on it confidently and didn't want to reveal my power level too much, but the whole thing read to me like the "Russia is gonna blow up the ZNPP as a dirty bomb" thing awhile back where I was just like "...the power plant they control? That they captured and secured? That they'd want to maintain as valuable infrastructure if they intend on conquering everything in Ukraine like you claim?" I know there's a lot of fog of war shit in reporting from an active warzone, but I'm almost certain this guy believed in the "Ghost of Kiev" and probably soyfaced over the "Russian warship, go fuck yourself" Snake Island thing, and the dam collapse thing being a vindictive Russian scorched earth thing just sounds fishy to me. Weren't there reports of it being hit with US supplied HIMARS by Ukrainian forces or am I thinking of something else?

Pushing back on this kind of shit makes me feel like pepe-silvia sometimes I stfg

  • Stainless finish Beretta Neos .22LR SBR conversion, with suppressor

    (not mine)

I hate how much I like this. It'd be stupidly overpriced to do on a .22LR plinker but I just think it's neat.

Xenharmonic stuff that isn't super dissonant is so cool to me, this is really calming and beautiful but also really alien and kind of eerie and mysterious sounding !hexbear-specter

Stoort Neer- En Glad Titel På En Sorglig Skiva (Instrumental, progressive metal, djent, thall)

Solo side project from one of Vildhjarta's guitarists

The most recent release under Stoort Neer is a full band with a vocalist and more post-hardcore/skramz-y

Love the weird guitar tone and rubbery twangy bending thing he does

Trans megathread and c/traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns not showing any posts?

Checked a notification I got in the trans mega and the comment chain doesn't appear, and the original post for the mega about Leslie Feinberg displays but none of the comments appear for me. When I go to the c/traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns page, no threads appear. Did the com get scrubbed or is this some bug on my end?

    >Well I grew up in the client-state of a petro king with a complicated take on things like human rights, But baby that's the sacrifice, for bringing joy to the world

And I learned young how the west was won, with Christ's big heart and a bigger gun But it wasn't enough so we took the moon Because nazi rocket science too, can bring joy to the world

The war on drugs, this righteous cause To clear our streets of criminals, now civilized by an opioid, so the Sackler family can enjoy Spreading joy around the world

New York City, the world loves you and retribution was surely duе To the zealots who brought you hell, boy thе heroes in Langley taught them well How to infiltrate joy into the world

Can’t we all just get along like Amazon and Raytheon Coming together to make a drone To bring us lunch and kill their sons in a synergistic 2-for-1 Ballistic joy to the world

Please stop resisting all the joy in your world Just a car full of celebrities singing about the joy in your world

A string of bad luck, in this final turn, we gathered around and watched our cities burn “Who could have possibly predicted this?!” said everyone

So we'll boldly venture into the black, guided by a Grimes soundtrack We'll liberate some foreign stars and stick a flag on the face of mars There’s beauty in starting again, patient zero of original sin As the mantra rings across the land “how clever, look at us, we've done it again!”

We're bringing joy to whole new worlds You must admit we've certainly got a knack for bringing joy To whole new worlds In time these aliens will learn to love the joy We bring to whole new worlds

We're bringing joy to your world You’d better hope you don't have cheap bananas or else we're bringing joy to your world You’d better hope you don't have dead dinosaurs or we'll bring joy to your world You’d better hope you don't have big plans or else we're bringing...

    Nerve Institute: "Act Naturally"

Recently have been going back through the Death is Just Around the Corner podcast and been marinating in a lot of its themes, and found some of MSJ's music digging deeper into everything I could find about the podcast and its topics, and this song he did about the JFK assassination and Lee Harvey Oswald is really beautiful imo.

    Lego Racers Remastered (25th Anniversary)

Cool fan made remake project of Lego Racers in development. Some of the physics on the boosts and turning look kinda janky and stiff, but the dev said they'd work in it and it's still a one person work in progress and looks really cool to me, I loved that game as a kid and always thought it and Diddy Kong Racing were underrated and way more fun than MK64. Customizing your own minifig and kart and winning new building blocks was so cool, and the item system with upgrades and having specific items other than boosts factor into the design of the track's shortcuts was awesome. Soundtrack was full of cute goofy shit that I loved too.
