its not my kind of game, but im LOVING how the devs are using the games online capabilities. i read somewhere that they essentially have a tabletop rpg style DM who manages the events like this and its such a cool idea.

The community has been really solid so far. Everyone I've played with seems to be in on the joke, and I've had almost entirely positive experienes. A couple griefers here and there, but for the most part its been great.

Notably, as far as they have any motivation in the story, the bots are trying to reach Cyberstan to rescue the Cyborgs from a century of slavery.

They're satirizing the language of political propaganda in general. There's no reason to think they're commenting on Ukraine specifically.
They're satirizing American imperial language and there are definitely enough people in that studio to have chuckled about Ukraine, or October 7th, etc.

The game won't be for everyone. It's a PVE horde fighter that mimicks starship troopers in the sense that you mercilessly die a lot. Fun if accurately recreating Starship Troopers sounds fun to you. Devs are cool though.
