- She definitely has a real chance. Biden’s biggest weaknesses were his age and his record. Harris isn't old (especially compared to Trump), can more easily back off Biden’s least-popular positions, and it's harder to blame her for not accomplishing as much as the guy ostensibly running the show.

- Agreed. People are starving for a normal candidate, and Kamala strikes me as only being abnormal in how much of an absolute normie she is. She has almost no baggage at all, she has experience as a prosecutor (which should speak to her ability to communicate) and landed some pretty good body shots on Biden in the 2020 primary debates, and she has almost none of the problems that Trump and Biden shared (brain-addled golf-obsessed septuagenarians), and she can lay claim to Biden's W's and have plausible deniability for his L's. Kamala has previously come across as a little too scripted, and that's born out in other reports about her being something of an overbearing perfectionist, but I think that's nothing that the DNC war machine can't polish up. I think Kamala's got a real shot here.

I just saw some parts of Vance talking. The crowd was dead. A lady behind him was falling asleep. If anything, he's going to blow Trump's election. When someone "charismatic" like Trump says something insane, the crowd can twist whatever real thoughts they had to join in on being with him.

I don't think so. Suburbs are very child-unfriendly, for example, and this, I think, is one of the most important factors for the rise of socially maladjusted people. The capitalist economy is also much harder for people with children.

We played street hockey and skateboarded. Lots of neighborhood wide games of hide and seek. The neighbors mostly knew each other

The most effective attacks on Hillary were over NAFTA, voting for the Iraq war, and a general sense of her entitlement and criminality, and Trump still lost the popular vote. The electoral college advantage Trump had in 2016 has almost certainly been erased by the Dobbs decision, as the 2022 midterms showed. I'm not saying it's 100% that Kamala will win, but 2016 isn't necessarily a guide here.
