  • I feel like the odd one out in this chat ngl because I've always found the free RSS feeds of Chapo, TrueAnon et al to be plenty. What's the deal here?

  • Having to supply a token to auth that you should have access to a URL is a pretty common thing in streaming/file hosting, especially for CDNs that sites will use to offload file hosting. My guess is it's probably a Patreon change because a lot of creators will expect that kind of feature and get mad if people can easily pirate their content.

  • it's probably a patreon change and not a change that the podcasters did. At least I am guessing Patreon doesn't hvae an option that is "How hard do you want your content be to steal? [x] Easy [ ] Hard"

  • Set up AudioBookShelf, pull the feed, then open your feed and share the feed URL. This gets you around the token but it does put you on the hook for hosting and serving the feed.
