I hate it too. I have long-haired pets and live in a rural place, so it's constant dirt and hair and cruft.
Every time I think very deeply about it, though, I'm reminded of that Star Trek episode with the AI that killed all the dirty humans on its ship/station because they were shedding nasty skin cells everywhere, and I feel like the Avatar of Filth 😂 so I try not to think about it too much
Vacuum first, dust after - otherwise you're going to dust surfaces then the vacuum is going to kick up a bunch of dust to settle on your freshly-dusted surfaces
Exfoliate daily. Moisturising probably helps too. Not even kidding.
A vacuum with a HEPA filter is going to do a better job of eliminating dust.
When dusting, use a fluffy microfibre cloth or a damp cloth so that the dust gets collected. The old school feather duster method is only useful for kicking up dust and redistributing it around the place.
Air purification can sequester a lot of dust from your environment. A Corsi-Rosenthal box is extremely cheap to make and they're very effective.
Idk if a negative ion generator is a good idea - there are some risks and considerations to weigh up before you should decide to buy one.
