I'm confused. Did he just post this because it's a meme or did he post it because it makes sense to him? He thinks a lot of Trump supporters are dumb and the problem is there's too many people that are too smart to control? Does he know the dumb and average people don't have the same material interest as him? Like average people are smart enough to reject Trump but not smart enough to become a capitalist pig and manipulate the dumbs? He thinks he got where he is because he's smart? Or is it just a meme he's seen before with the labels changed so it amuses him.

It's nice that your dad is encouraging. Lots of people don't have dad's that encourage them. But I agree with other people that following your dreams leads too easily to career based sense of self, which is not healthy and gets even less healthy as late stage capitalism progresses to degrees of lateness we cannot currently imagine. But it is never healthy to derive self esteem from work.

Trump calling stuff fake news and saying journalists are the enemy (
) caused liberal trust of the media to skyrocket. They had more skepticism though not enough before that. Compared with conservatives, liberals claimed higher levels of trust of everything including literal right wing propaganda outlets since Trump. Conservatives basically only trust Fox News which is just about the only right wing propaganda that liberals didn't trust. So I hope they wake up to the fact that all media is owned by capitalists and there's apparently a lot of value they see in being able to influence public opinion.
Like most Americans, I live in a state where my vote won't matter and I'm keeping my conscience clean. This one is just a bridge way too far for me. I think I would probably reconsider if Rashida Tlaib endorsed Kamala, but I don't think she will or should.
They have no plan. They could have run someone smart enough to not say good things about the Cheneys and now the most likely successor is Walz, who is so much better than her. And she isn't getting any use out of him because she's running such a right wing campaign. They don't know what they're doing. It was obvious that Biden was not capable of campaigning, but he said he was going to run so they made no preparations at all.

Then once a quarter, a bunch of people get together and decide how much of that money to pay, in dividends and buybacks, to the shareholders, who legally own the very means of production mentioned earlier. That isn't a get rich quick scheme, it's a get rich slow scheme. And just like in any scam, they are not giving you anything back. You are paying them from your surplus value.
Shareholders trade shares between each other, but they rarely buy shares from the company so they literally do not transfer money to the company on a regular basis, and the amount raised through issuing shares is very small compared to the amount companies pay shareholders over time. So they are very literally not paying you to work for them.
Then some guy shows up where you live and says he has a legal document that means he owns your home, so you have to give him half your paycheck.
I'm not a lawyer, but I know tech companies run social media platforms to create data models about users for ad platforms. It seems to me that they could attempt to integrate themselves into a fediverse network and still harvest data, and not even provide services. So perhaps a software license could require that content posted to the platform by users is by default licensed under CC-BY-SA-NC or something that would prevent this.

I'm literally doing physical therapy right now. As in, I'm doing my assigned exercises literally right now.
Every night I take this stuff, I'm thinking about how good my body will feel, and yeah, sure, I feel relaxed and good and I like to think about weird stuff, but seriously also thinking about how good my body will feel. I'm looking forward to how good my feel when I fall asleep in a bit. I'm literally expecting to sleep better because of it.
I did this stuff years ago but I don't remember being this aware of "good feeling body". And yeah, my body feels bad and I'm doing physical therapy.
