Dumb little complaint - I hate how everyone wants to talk on snapchat
I know this is some boomer tier shit I'm on right now, but im not gonna download snap or discord just to keep chatting, if you're wanting to talk to me somewhere other than an app I'll just give you my number.
I get WHY people would prefer it, keeping a little bit of their info private, but im still not downloading snapchat.
Might be a localized thing tbh, I'm also in a metro city and all the poly ppl I've met use discord, though I only know trans poly ppl and trans people tend towards discord anyways lol
Its because you cant screenshot things without the other person being notified and everyone posts their lives on there and its primarily young people. So the illusion of exclusivity/privacy + makes you feel young + parasocial relationships + micro content + pedos + drug dealers (who are dumb as fuck)
If they actually care about privacy, upgrade to signal. Owned by the CIA and all, but you’ll still be more secure than using Snapchat or any of the other disappearing message apps
My ex-gf from ~10-15 years ago insisted on "snapping" me all the time.
I only ever used that app to communicate with her. Deleted it fairly quickly once I saw things were not going to be reconciled this time...
I made a one and only exception for her because, well, we all know why anyone would make that exception. But coworker GREG ain't sending me tittie pics while I'm working. So, he can text me like a normal human.
I didn't know many people still used snapchat though tbh. And I sure as shit ain't joining a rando discord for coworkers. I try to not use discord at all for the most part...
Snap always seems to me like a red flag for poly/enm. Like, it usually seems like people insisting on that are often the ones looking for plausible deniability about their conversations and activities.
Like I guess if you're sending a lot of lewds, they are slightly less likely to be sitting in the storage of someone else's phone, but if you don't trust the person you're sending it to to keep it safe, then you better not care what happens with it after you send it anyways.
Beyond the disappearing thing, the rest if it kinda sucks to use. The only really good thing it has going for it is a super robust camera filter marketplace. They've got really good face swapping and image manipulation filters, and that shit is genuinely fun to use. I really wish they would just release the camera part on its own, with no connection to anyone else at all. But ofc that's jot their business so they won't.
