Looks like they're scraping up some more copies somehow, but it looks like the game literally sold out within an hour or so of going live. Must have either been a very small print run, or there are more irony pilled folks willing to part with ~$80 for what looks like a kinda jank roll-and-move game than I thought.
EDIT: Apparently the additional copies have also sold out.
EDIT2: If you actually want the thing, it looks like they are accepting pre-orders for an another printing.
I made the mistake of bringing this game up in group chat with people who range from radlibs to conservatives who don’t like Trump but will hold their nose and vote for him anyway. I didn’t realize how deadly serious they take Jan 6th. Two words used include “disgusting” and “disrespectful”.
You should photoshop an image so it looks like the Speaker of the House lectern is actually a miniature collectible in a screenshot of an online store then and message the group telling them that you're selling January 6th commemorative items for a limited time only, then when they're outraged you should gaslight them by telling them that you think it's important that people have a constant physical reminder of how the rule of law is the only thing that can save us from threats to democracy.
I think the liberal media did a big scaremongering campaign about this, saying it was "praising" January 6th, so a lot of CHUDs might have actually bought the game because of that.
I wish I had comrades nearby to play niche board games like this. The only time was once on my birthday with my college roommates. We had so much fun that time.
Still working on that. Maybe this year. Lot of people in my age group move away from here if they can. Florida tends to be a playground for the wealthy elderly.
Something that might be worth trying is if you have a game store near you is that they usually host meet up nights where strangers can show up and play board games and ttrpgs with each other.
I think my favorite thing about all this was Jimmy Falun Gong posting a thread accusing Trueanon of being grifting sellouts. He’s generally a good follow, but he has an deep hatred for any podcast more popular than his. Which is every podcast.
