Thoughts on the Debate: We're doomed.
  • Sorry, I think I did misread your comment, apologies.

I do realize it's growing in popularity, I am not suggesting anyone hide their head in the sand, though.

I was trying to say that this narrative of "were doomed" and "theyre both bad choices" feeds into this problem. Its more false equivalency, and discourages voting. I realize you weren't saying this, and that this IS what people are saying. But I still find it gobsmacking that people are seriously saying it's hard to choose.

  • See Biden's fiery speech after shaky debate performance
  • Any leftist who doesn't vote against a facist far-right candidate like Trump is pretty shit at being a leftist.

  • Who Won The First Biden-Trump Presidential Debate [of 2024]?
  • It depends if you think lying is a big deal. If you don't think brazenly lying is a big deal what is wrong with you?

  • Thoughts on the Debate: We're doomed.
  • I agree with a lot of what you're saying, but it's easy to choose the better of two choices here. Debate or not, how is it even a question who to vote for when one guy is openly a fascist?

  • What do you personally use AI for?
  • Employment is not a right? Well if we continue with a capitalist system and give most people no way to earn a living, we will need something to replace jobs for most people. We should not merely accept that it sucks and let things go to shit. We could pass laws limiting the use of AI or protecting workers, or providing basic income...

Whatever we do we had better figure it out soon, though.

  • What do you personally use AI for?
  • But the difference I think is this isn't just affecting a few niche industries (horses, carts and their associated care). AI is going to replace a huge, huge chunk of the workforce with no new jobs created to replace them. Even in the industrial revolution there were new jobs created - shittier jobs, but jobs. This is different.

  • Instagram Advertises Nonconsensual AI Nude Apps
  • Ok, but acting like you can't trust any sources of info on anything is pretty destructive also. There are still some fairly reliable sources out there. Dismiss everything and you're left with conspiracy theories.

  • What do you personally use AI for?
  • It is stealing lots of potential work and income from professional creatives, though.

Maybe this is only happening in the more toxic circles?

Humans are long gone. In a world struck by droughts and toxic waste, will your lumberpunk beavers do any better? A city-building game featuring ingenious animals, vertical architecture, water physics, and terraforming. Contains high amounts of wood.

Has anybody given this game a try? I've been considering it for a while, but money is tight. Curious if it was worth it.

Or conversely, other other new simulation games you would recommend?

    Thanks!
