you could argue theres already been incremental creep of accepting right wing ideas.

However looking at Trmps game plan and cabinet picks it doesnt look too incremental this time. It sounds like he wants to get right to the bulldozing and violence right out of the gate.

though the gop control the three branches, the election was still extremely close in fact. Also most of the win was more about rejecting biden and the cost of living increases, not necessarily support of far right beliefs (though support is still certainly growing and is significant).

But I think they are overestimating how much support they would have if they tried doing anything too extreme. Hopefully at least.

well, kind of. I guess there are better ways to try and embarrass bullies than dick jokes in particular.

But it also doesn't matter if they see it or not. Thats not why we should mock these people. Its important for people generally to be able to laugh at these assholes who are trying to intimidate the whole country.

Maybe we should find less toxic ways to do so, but name calling and jokes about things that play on their insecurities are probably more effective than a lot of other things to weaken their "strongman" image

For real? Normally it is toxic and wrong to ridicule people for their physical stuff. Almost always in fact.

But in this case, petty insults are the only thing that gets to him. So if it angers and insults the guy who keeps describing many many Americans as subhuman vermin, i say it go for it.
