- In the original draft (which was essentially preppies/bros vs. weird nerds, with no magic dogs), Daphne was Doug. As such, Daphne is canonically trans.
  
  I wanna read more about this draft, but when I Google it, I only get hits for the 2000s movie's earlier drafts.
