I have a childhood memory of my parents and grandparents huddled around the TV watching coverage of the how the USSR was dissolving, so I guess it was around Christmas 1991. I kept trying to get my dad to look at a toy or something, then he said something like "not now, this is important." I asked "what is it?"
He said something like "This means there's not gonna be fighting in the world anymore. All the Russians are dying." And for years I literally thought America had stopped an alien invasion or something (I was a dumb kid and had no idea what the USSR was until I was like 10)
Isn't that the DSA line? I remember reading it on their website, they hated the USSR and was happy with it's downfall, they thought their "Democratic Socialism" would win in the new Eastern bloc countries, instead they shifted to the right.
No idea what the DSA line is, but I suspect that a lot of people in the DSA don't actually believe that the transition to socialism can be achieved through the electoral system, but they just maintain that line to be able to exist in the USA.
I think Engels also theorized that the transition could happen democratically, but I can't imagine any serious socialist believing that after seeing the events of the 20th century.
I see exactly what you're doing lol lmao even don't even try I definitely wasn't exactly 3 year and 224 days old when it happened. Nope, not at all, good try though.
Listen, I would have, but Barney provided insufficient light arms training. You can't crush the rising tide of reaction with hugs and clean up labor equity unfortunately.
