The best Star Trek show is the one you like the most. If that's Discovery, that's fine. And if you don't like the show, that's also fine. But making an overall declaration that a show is terrible and tacitly expecting everyone to agree is not cool.
Agreed. I am very fond of star trek already and i am only 10 episodes into the original series. I believe it will take several months if not year before i get to know the characters in this picture.
I'm re-watching DS9 for the third time or something, but I've never seen anything released after Voyager except for the Abrams movie travesties. Am I still a Trekkie?
Only like 1/4th of the new stuff even has half-decent writing. Only the last season of Picard and the Strange New Worlds or what ever are even good TV, let alone "Star Trek"
I ... guess what I'm saying is, you're not missing much. Stange New Worlds is probably the closest to old trek. The other crap is drama before even plot, let alone drama over intelligence.
If this risa mag has taught me anything is that I'm not current on Trek.
I grew up on re-runs of TOS and I've seen most of the movies but not much at all of DS9 and NG and other TV shows. And I'm not really sure I want to watch all that. Very much enjoying 3rd Rock from the Sun right now, tyvm.
Same but for me it was TNG. I used to hate TOS as a kid because it was dated and looked fake. I watched it a few years ago and really loved the stories. I regret brushing past it.
DS9 and Voyager were also worth my time as well but nothing beats TNG. Nostalgia alone wins that hands down for me every time.
hey! I see you like gatekeeping star trek, name five questions about the timeline of relations between the Klingon Empire and the United Federation of Planets.
