Katy Perry is in such a weird position. She has had to undergo so much character assassination, but she kind of deserves it for things she actually did do that people don't mention as much. Now she's trying to regain pop icon status without realizing the culture that put her there in the first place is gone. Comparing her to Kesha (real ones know why), who had a song pop off on TikTok and tour dates already sold out makes it clear that Perry and her producers simply don't understand the zeitgeist anymore.
