Rewatching King of the Hill in preparation for the upcoming reboot lol
Have really been enjoying old Taskmaster episodes. Also liking the new season of Animal Control.
Severance, of course.
A new show called 'Paradise' - a high-concept mystery about a Secret Service agent. I'm not entirely sure about it yet, but I'll keep watching for now.
Utopia, a BBC alt history conspiracy show.
But I'm not sure I even like it? Every episode ends with a twist, which was interesting at first but now is making me wonder if there is even a plan or are they just doing the soap opera plan of saying the most ridiculous thing to keep ya hooked?
Looks pretty tho. Great cinematography.
I’ve binged The Man on the Inside after someone on Lemmy recommended it.
Also continuing to catch up with Taskmaster. I’m now at season 16.
Finally started watching severance season 1 then got hooked and finished the season. Excited to start season 2 next week
Twin Peaks, almost done with season 2
The Full Monty, I'm halfway through
Creature Commandos was great. Between it, Peacemaker, and The Suicide Squad I'm excited to see what else James Gunn is going to do with DC.
Snowpiercer season 4 was the worst season of all of them. Possibly because they spent too much time off train. I had to watch two episodes of the first season afterwards to remind me why I loved that show. The first two seasons are great, sadly it’s downhill from there.
Scavengers Reign is really special. Like a Moebius Sci-fi graphic novel. Wonderfully strange and a little creepy. Can you recommend something similar?
Infinity Train is an animated show about a girl stuck in a huge train where each car is its own universe. It has some vibes of both of the above.
+1 for Infinity Train. So much more weird and high concept than you would ever expect from a show targeting a younger audience.
Man Snowpiercer season 4... Yeah it's a tough one to love but I still thank that the whole series got finished even if they basically lost all the budget and even the good cinematographer by the end there. I even liked the story still, especially since it manages to make each season match the books in a way that feels like someone loving Snowpiercer the concept as well.
Scavenger's Reign really managed to make everything feel, ALIEN and that was really cool. The closest you will find will likely be animes and there are a few that come to mind.
Snowpiercer season 4 reportedly had a lot of rewrites and reshoots. They tried to cram too much story into it and that makes it fall apart. The eternally running train even stopped moving, was in the shop, and became more of a commuter train than the last island of civilization. That not only changed the setting, but removed the train as the mystical entity and hero machine.
The setting and concept is really good as the constant movement and thin walls protecting from the deadly cold empathizes the peril of existence, compared to a show like Silo, situated in a fixed concrete bunker. I wouldn’t be surprised if we get another show taking a stab at it. They can even use a different train like Ice Breaker from the comics to tell a similar story.
The movies Annihilation and Stalker have some similarities with Scavenger’s reign as the preset a really weird environment.
The USA and uk traitors. They are both good in different ways.
Finished Silo S2. Started Severance S2 and Sakamoto Days. Also randomly watched ep 1 of Arcane and it looks like we’ll be watching it through.
You don't need to watch Arcane Season 2. It doesn't really answer much in the way of season 1 and isn't quite as cohesive or magical and often feels like a parade of skins they use for the game and villains to make new game characters.
Highly loved Season 1 and if you want more go ahead but seriously season 2 is a huge step in a different direction.
Good to know, thanks! I'm not super invested in the LoL universe so I'm fine with just doing season 1 in that case.
I continue to binge The Bureau of Legends. French spy series that has nothing to be scoffed at when compared to any Le Carre novel. Really hooked.
Finished Squid Game season 2. More of the same, not sure what I expected :) Quite abrupt ending :/ Anyway I'd rate it not great, not terrible.
Watching Severance season 2 - awesome, I hope it won't let me down :)
Watching Lost with my wife. She’s experiencing it for the first time! The first season is a drag but the amount of characters and drama is great!
Been watching Interior: Chinatown, and Hacks, and Candice Renoir. Also pleased there's new episodes of Ghosts, Matlock and Elsbeth.
SAS: Rogue Heroes season 2 is as gloriously bonkers as the first.
We're only 1 episode into Kleo but I really like what it's doing so far.
And our rewatch of DS9 (well, my wife's first watch) is well into the maquis arc now.
Binged Interior Chinatown, it is well worth a watch and I'm thinking of reading the book.
Overall plot went on kinda a roller coaster with it, but would recommend. Has great moments and excellent if you like the idea of a show where a "Wilhelm Scream" can be used when reporting a fall.
The less you know going in the better. First episode starts with a waiter at a Chinese restaurant talking about cold opens in cop shows.
Dead Dead Demon's dededede Destruction:
Damn what scifi anime powerhouse of a show. And like really good scifi it constantly holds up a fun house mirror to reality, showing you people you know in situations you don't.
It's almost like they took a slice of life and slammed a spaceship into it. Which is more or less the plot.
Shockingly grounded, really impactful, and if you are lost they make sure to come back around and pick you up so no one gets left behind before the series is over.
Finished TNG for the first time ever, just watched Generations last nite.
