  • That one is thought provoking. The jobs seem so similar at a glance, but they need very different people to do each of the jobs well.

  • Wow! Good thing you've found a place to shine.

One thing that separates you from another person questioning authority is that you immediately back it up with facts and offer solutions. Many people who would be able to spot the issues would just take the opportunity to say "boss man, you're an idiot" and refuse to elaborate beyond "trust me, I know what I'm doing, I'll fix it."

  • Yes! There are so many times where a focus on efficiency is mislabeled "laziness". As long as the job gets done the same or faster, it's just efficient to put less work into it.

  • Yes! Once a thing passes the nitpicker's inspection, it is also good enough to pass the customers' inspection

  • Similarly, if everyone at your work is constantly telling you "it's not rocket science," or something like that, look around for a job where being accurate and detailed is required. At least take up a highly detailed hobby.

  • That one makes more sense to me, when someone is prone to para-social relationships, it's a way to make fake internet friends. We are meant to get to know people around us by how they react to things, so this type of video is meant to exploit that

  • Watching reading videos.

I also enjoy these, but what on earth is that about? We have videos of someone's face telling a story, we have videos of things happening for us to see (real and fake), why are stories read aloud while the words appear on the screen so interesting?

Also, we have access to the websites where these stories are coming from. This is the part that does make sense to me, I often miss those certain comments that make the best stories... So it's like a best of the best compilation to watch the reading videos.

But still, why? Why is a reading video the preferred way to find these cherry picked posts and comments from Reddit and Tumblr. Wouldn't a Best Of collection of screenshots or reposts do that job?

  • If I could ride one without risking my life even more than I already do in a car, I'd love to get to work and back on one of those. But there are no bike paths, sidewalks, or any other scooter friendly options for me.

If you can ride while protected from the local traffic, absolutely consider this option!

  • Assuming it's nuclear, sit around and mourn the fact I don't have a basement. Hope that either A: missle defence works, or B: I'm in the evaporation zone. Radiation sickness sounds awful.

Even if the explosion and fallout completely missed my area, I think EMP disruption would be a huge issue and lots of people would be panicking, stealing, murdering trying to survive.

  • Eh, they're all just big and bigger islands, because every land mass is surrounded by water.

  • "(you deserve it though)"

That part right there has to go. Before much of anything else can change, that belief must go.

Any number of people can tell you any number of times that you deserve better, but until this belief that you deserve to be mistreated actually changes in inside you, in your way of thinking day to day, little else will change in a meaningful way.

Good friends who treat you like humans help, it sounds like you found one of those so far. Good therapists help more, if you can find a good one.

  • Ah yes, the worst parts of different recipes thrown together. Nice.

  • Haha when I want to try a new brand or location, I judge it by how good their vanilla is.

  • Yes, exactly. If the shop can't make good vanilla, then they're a gimmick shop.

What new modifications do you expect to see in the EV hot rodding scene?
