I am an American. I got a stovetop kettle to boil water for my tea. My fiancée hates it and refuses to use it. My friends think it is weird that I don’t just use the microwave like a normal person.

Back when I lived in the rust belt, I had a bad habit of giving directions based on things that weren't there anymore and businesses that had long closed as if I was in my 80s instead of my teens.

This has been me this week with my fiancée. I painted some chairs in a color she likes, and now every night she's making me strain muscles I didn’t know could be strained. I suppose repetitive movements do cause injuries eventually lol

No, seriously, there's been a shift in the way the people use the word evangelical. I'll have to dig it up, but I saw a street interview recently where a reporter person is interrogating a man identifying as an evangelical who when prodded on the teachings of Jesus responded with "I don’t believe in all that Jesus stuff, I'm an atheist". Apparently a lot of people are identifying as evangelicals as a political identity, not as a religious identity. Evangelicals literally are no longer Christians anymore.

I dont think we can know that. Like, in Original Star Trek Reddenberry predicted that we would have a universal digital library formed by a web of computers that would also allow instant communication across the galaxy, but he didn't predict the cultural shift that the internet would cause.
