- Discussion: AI Posts
Currently our rules do not specify for or against AI postings, simply if something "makes you go awww!" then it is welcome. Given that more than a few users have expressed that AI pictures should be limited to AI communities, do we as a community want to restrict AI posts?
- Here's my dude. I have no idea what he is.
Meet Sherlock. He's about 1½ years old and weighs 70 pounds. This guy spent two hours bouncing all over the four-acre dog park, and still wanted to play once we got home.
We get asked all the time what he is. My wife sent off a DNA kit so maybe we'll have an idea in a couple weeks. I'm pretty sure those ears pick up shortwave radio.
We adopted him in August. Here he is the day we took him home.
He's really intelligent. He knows a lot of commands. Most of them he does right away, but he's not always so eager to please. You just have to show him that no matter how stubborn he is, you're even more stubborn. He gets there soon enough.
- Meet Max, the cat receiving an (honorary) doctorate from Vermont State University this weekendwww.vermontpublic.org Meet Max, the cat receiving an (honorary) doctorate from Vermont State University this weekend
The tabby will become a "Doctor of Litter-ature" in recognition of his contributions to the Castleton campus, where he has become a regular visitor for the past four years.
For you MST3K fans, this proves that cats are superior to Nick. Even cats get into Castleton.
- New addition, not sure on name yet...
New kitten in the family, 2 months old. Not sure on a name yet.
Not even sure on gender, TBH. Female looking face, but that doesn't mean much at 2 months.
- Nothing comes between one of my dogs and food; not even her sister's head being in the way.
They do get along very well.
- I held a baby squirrel today!
Story time! We recently bought a rural property with a burnt down house on it and are going up every few weekends to clean it up. I'm up there this morning picking up random sheet metal and yeeting it into the trash pile. Suddenly I hear frantic squeaks....I look, and I accidentally yeeted the cover of a squirrel nest (I think squirrel)! I got the baby, got it out of the baking sun and made a new nest under another piece of cover. Still, holding a baby squirrel so new it's eyes weren't open was pretty magical! The kids (I have a 7 year old girl and a 9 year old boy) got to each hold it for a second too! Ideally we wouldn't have touched it, but the existing cover was mega-gone and it had to be relocated to safety out of the sun, so we got some brush and put it under a smaller wood plank right near where we found it, hopefully it's mom finds it, no one will be up there for the next few weeks so it won't be disturbed by people again.
- Rosie after the vet gave her a cookie on Thursday
Then she got an exam and her smile went away. She doesn't like the vet touching her. It makes her nervous.
She also has allergies and was put on allergy meds. She's thrilled because she gets pill pockets every day now. I'm not thrilled because her medicine is $130/month
- Baby Killdeer I rescued from a storm drain
One of the parents was running around the drain making a bunch of noise, went to investigate and found the baby trapped inside. I fished it out with a hair net wrapped around a coat hanger that I taped to a broom handle.
- Does anyone else feel strangely calm when seeing this photograph?
My brain goes all mushy and mellow when it notices that I'm apparently in proximity of a slower kind of a fellow. 🐢

- I found this old girl on the side of the road, her name is Sunny!
I took her to the vet and found the owner. I also yelled at them for letting their old dog roam. She's a sweet old gal, and she shouldn't be out there. I'll be checking up on her. Thankfully, they're going to still let me see her, even though I chewed them out.
Edit: I forgot to mention, she had a pampering while she was here!
- This little guy and his frog friend decided to go for a swim in the pool.
Both mouse and frog were rescued this morning around 6:40AM, after found in the deep end of a pool.
