@Hypx Couldn't a current flagship run windows 11 without breaking a sweat? I'm sure there are some hardware architecture issues, but one has to wonder if a pocket size MS Surface with a 5G antenna isn't relatively straightforward to release.

@dope legalize all drugs, provide clean drugs to users via regulated dispensaries or pharmacies, take all money from the drug war and allocate to mental health services including inpatient rehab. It works, check Portugals record on heroin use.

That said, cannabis has a way better afety record than any of the other substances mentioned.

@Blaze hmmm, why yes it is. I don't know why that community does not come up for me no matter what I search on kbin.run I'm all for joining an existing community as long as I can interact with it.

@whale I wonder if their drive still hosts on IPFS. While most crypto is a crock of shit, IPFS actually seems like a legitimate use case for building out distributed encrypted data storage, kind of like TOR for storage. Kind of a shame they were shooting themselves in the foot for many users by mentioning the buzz words.

Kill 6 Billion Demons is an absolute classic. Good enought to have made it into print trade paperbacks, but still free online. The visual style and wild world building are truly a joy to behold. You also get a bit of the sparky web comic flavor while still holding together an excellent long term story arc with serious plot.

@Zerlyna @Zerlyna because desserts are places with very low precipitation, which. Is correlated with but not solely caused by high temperatures. Due to proximity to the ocean and existing wind patterns much of the tropics experiences high rainfall.

The obvious exception is the Sahara which is landlocked for the most part and no longer favored by the Jetstream or other wind patterns, so it has a short and low volume monsoon rainy season. Once upon a time there was a green Sahara though, with better winds and good rains.

@MargotRobbie As a creative on strike I would have thought you would have felt some solidarity with the content creators who make 50% of the ad revenue you are withholding from them by blocking ads.

I pay for premium because I can't stand ads but I do want to support creators with a share of my subscription, even though I know it is less than they would have made if I watched the ads. I thought maybe you would feel the same given you aren't hurting for money either.

I know it is not a perfect system, but I do appreciate the content creators I watch enough to want them get payed. I subscribe to Nebula too for this reason, though I admit I should use it more.

@fbmac This article in defense of Citizendium.org , an alternative to Wikipedia with author identity verification, is a great anecdotal rundown of why this is a bad idea. Give Citizendium a try, I'm not saying it is perfect but it is a bit better.
