The coordinated decision of the Western nations to fast track famine by stopping UNRWA funding was announced within an hour, following the ICJ ruling that Gazans were at immediate risk of genocide, and drove from the media headlines the adverse ruling against Israel.

Hmm. Could be seen as a rather outlandish thing to say in the immediate aftermath of 2023-10-07, but in hindsight with what we know now in terms of what atrocities the Israeli military forces have brought upon the people of Gaza since that attack on Israel, it seems a reasonable statement to support armed resistance against the coming episode of genocide which indeed materialised and continues today.
The genocide started on 10-8 (or maybe 9) so yeah. He was just quick on the uptake.
But but but but but
Every aspect seems about this war since Oct 7th especially seems strange to me.
As a general pattern in North America that I've observed: Pro-Israel government actions, aid, narratives etc. spread and proceed quickly, anti-Israel or Pro-Palestinian movements are immediately acted to harshly but are only later given credence, and anti-Palestine incidents are investigated very slowly and usually the US and Canadian governments rely on Israel's worthless word.
Why are our countries so lopsided when it comes to engaging in these topics diplomatically?
I mean, Israel is such a huge asset to the US that it's not unsurprising that they are backing them completely with blatant disregard for the Palestinians.
Everyone else is just falling in line because they want to stay in the US group.
I do find it surprising that unlike literally every other country, they seem to be giving Israel a full pass at even ignoring Washington's demands.
They seem to be the only nation that can step out of line and still receive billions in military aid.
If KSA suddenly ditched America, the CIA would have the government replaced by tomorrow. But Netanyahu apparently qualifies as passable considering how long he's been in office.
Israel didn't ditch or disobey America's commands in any meaningful sense. The idea that America is trying to keep Israel under control while it's commiting this genocide is propaganda. That is not what's happening. The US is not issuing commands that Israel is disobeying. What it's doing is directly giving Israel the tools to commit this genocide. It wouldn't be able to without the US's current actions.
Israel is a vassal state to the USA and is integral to American interests in the region (Isreal's nickname is America's unsinkable aircraft carrier). Also racism/islamaphobia.

What then? Maybe 98% supports + 2% doesn't support the genocide?

It’s an absurd thing to say. I understand (and agree) that the U.S. should do more to stop Israel. In fact, I am personally for ceasing all aid to them until they get their country under control. However, I’m not a politician and can make such statements from the convenience of my own home without consequence. I’m not a leader of a democratic nation that itself sits on a knife’s edge between gridlocked governance and full on autocracy. Biden no doubt is weighing the next election in his decision making because he has to. The wrong choice will land a maniac back in the White House. To say he supports genocide is just provocateur nonsense.

I mean yeah that's another name for the Israeli/Jewish lobby. The term is certainly questionable but you can't tell me "the Zionist machine" doesn't perfectly describe the nonsense AIPAC has been up to for the past... I have no idea but a long time.
