Medieval style, so it's a hand crossbowcaster.
Hand crossbows do 1d6 damage while heavy does 1d10

Btw these shoulder plates are dangerous as fuck. Just like Vikings will have never worn horns in a fight.
- How so? In what way could they hurt you? (I'm genuinely curious incase I ever become a blacksmith designing armor or something lol)
  
  If they hit you from the top, instead of sliding to the side those shitty things would guard the sword straight to your unprotected Neck
  
  Armor should direct the blade away from your neck at all times
- They look useful for jousting. May even be historical but I'm not an expert on those.
