I am looking for an anime recommendation where Wizards beat the shit out of each other casting more and more ridiculous spells.

- I would start with Fate/Zero and go on to this, but i don't know if much people have the same opinion about that

  I watched a couple date anime series completely and liked them but there is just so many now I don't even know what to start with anymore.

A Certain Magical Index I also would suggest this one, it's a favourite of mine
- Well it's not bad, but i would rather go for the railgun one. I think the mc of magical index is rather boring, but the anime overall is not bad.
Black Clover might be a good fit. It's long and still making more episodes, but some of the fight scenes get pretty wild. I would say it's a little slow to get started though.
Madoka Magica

Not wizards/spellcasting in the traditional sense but JoJo Parts 3 and later have a similar vibe with the Stands' bizarre powers.
