MEGATHREAD for fully FOSS lemmy apps and tools without any ads, tracking or any other anti-features
If any app or tool (regardless of the platform they are in) you know of that is fully FOSS and doesn’t have any ads, tracking, or any other anti-features that didn’t make the list, it is a mistake and you can DM me and I will add it. The same goes for apps or tools that are not really FOSS or have anti-features. Even though I have tried my best, some mistakes could’ve been made. If the newer updates of one of the apps or tools listed made it unworthy to be included in the list, the platform it listed on isn’t available for it, or the link is broken, you can DM me and I will remove/fix it.

Eternity is the best for me. It is super configurable, and it is just so snappy with everything. The menus are well organized and everything is the right number of clicks away. It's not the most beautiful, but I keep coming back to it when I try others.
The main thing that it's missing is a set of mod tools, which hopefully are coming soon.
19 0 ReplySame here but the project seems abandoned...
8 3 ReplyIt isn't abandoned the problem is it has only one dev working on it so the development is slow because he can only do it in his free time.
16 0 ReplyThe codeberg has pretty regular commits for a project of this size. Looks like its mostly focused on translations, which seems reasonable given that its core features run so well.

The effort to recollect all the FOSS clients in single thread is admirable, unfortunately there are always the same "big" options... there are a lot of smaller clients (Combustible, Lemmynade, Muffed, Mlem) that are open but struggle to get any visibility...
16 0 ReplySend Links of those apps github page to me and i'll add them

Yeah i am trying to bring them to light

I’m currently using Voyager. It’s the app with the most frequent updates and fixes. Memmy hasn’t been updated in a while and the other two aren’t on iOS.
8 0 ReplyNo the list isn't completed you have add to it

For moderating and other advanced features, Alexandrite is the best! As a web UI, it is device and platform agnostic, and the developer sheodox is very responsive. It looks great and has a few customizations like adjusting the colors.

FYI it's 'ads' since it's short for 'advertisements', not 'addvertisements'
7 0 ReplyIts a mistake bruh
2 5 ReplyOkay.

You might want to review the list to make sure that all work with 0.19.
I know Liftoff had broken since 0.19.0
5 0 ReplyI know but as they have not officially declared the end of development and certain instances such as .world still run 18 i am leaving it there until any change happens.
6 0 ReplyYou should put the apps that are dead or don't support the latest Lemmy at the bottom.

Why is Memmy listed under Android. It's iOS only
5 0 ReplyIt is cross platform as in supports both android and ios and it os listed under both. I hope that helps
1 0 ReplyI don't see an Android version anywhere. Can you provide a link?

I've been using Raccoon lately. It's not perfect, but every release has been improving, and I'm liking it a lot.
4 0 ReplyDrop your reccomends here guys and gals
6 2 ReplyDon't forget the Photon web interface which is pretty good! https://github.com/Xyphyn/photon
Also, you should add download link and the link to the Git repos for each App, and Also, your post is really badly formatted!
4 0 ReplyI know will fix it when i make it a list

2 0 Reply!lemmynade@lemm.ee - is a really nice web app.
2 1 ReplyWould this not work well in a tabular format? Not sure if Lemmy supports full markdown though.

Could also include a link to the official Lemmy community for each of these projects
1 0 ReplyUh if you wanna help out i'll add it. I personnelly thinks if someone downloads an app they will find the sub themselves
1 0 Reply- Added community links
- Added links to alternative download sources
- Added notes to indicate projects whose last commit/update was last year
- Added a couple apps that were previously only listed under web into other sections as well
- Added a bunch of tools, splitting that section into extensions and userscripts
- reworked the Markdown
- various miscellaneous typo fixes, etc.
Seems comments are limited to only 10k characters, but the post itself should allow 50k:
