If the Biden administration really wanted this, they wouldnât âcall forâ it. They would demand it and coerce those fascist fucks to comply. This is theater. It provides Biden a talking point to claim that he isnât quite as ghoulish as a few Americans are starting to realize that he is.
Note that Biden and his administration are changing their tone, only AFTER major backlash from the Muslim community, the UN, EU and all the demonstrations going on. Turkey just cut ties with Netanyahu, yes everybody shits on Turkey, but at least they know how to give a signal.
*"Netanyahu is no longer someone we can talk to. We have written him off," Turkish media quoted Erdogan as saying.
Erdogan's remarks came a week after Israel said it was "re-evaluating" its relations with Ankara because of Turkey's increasingly heated rhetoric about the Israel-Hamas war.* Like, you know everyone has a right to an opinion?
Kids are dying every minute and all Biden can come up with is a plan to fight Islamaphobia? Bitch we don't need your plan, every minority group has learned to survive without you.
The world has changed, no one's buying this shit anymore. There is no fucking way Israel will come out of this war as a victor. Starving people to death, cutting off water, displacing them and then bombing them indiscriminately to death even before setting one foot on the ground and then claim victory? History will know them forever as the cowards they are. Not 'smart' but cowards.
Wouldn't surprise me if Biden threw a few aliens at us at this point to distract us from what's going on.
The only thing he can do now, is to pack up his warships or hell, just even threaten to pack up, to let Israel see how serious he is and STOP Vetoing UN humanitarian aid resolutions.
All I read in the Israeli media is that basically Israel has given up on the hostages. And from Hamas' standpoint, the smart thing to do is to hold on to those hostages for life, because the minute they let them all go, it will be a complete genocide.
You forgot that you have to give the enemy a way out if you want the hostages back. Right now they have nothing to lose and every man, woman and child Israel kills is in their advantage. They may lose their lives, but their lives weren't worth living anyway the way you treated them for generations...but Israel will lose everything in the end and they still can't see it.
Israel knows that the US will back it up no matter what, so it doesn't have to listen.
Blinken also knows that Israel knows. The US calls for humanitarian aid, etc, are public theatre designed to be rebuffed by Israel without consequences. So Biden gets to show the world that he is very concerned over human rights, even as Israel flattens Gaza.
Between the unflinching support of the US, the world doing nothing to stop genocide across the globe, and the lack of any consequence for nuclear powers, they know they have basically carte blanche.
If Western countries actually cared for human rights, they'd be blockading Israel right now until they agreed to stop the indiscriminate harm towards civilians. US politicians are asking for the bare minimum, and even that is far too much for Israel. It cannot be explained by anything other than bloodlust.
Qatar might be able to work out a deal to release a handful of hostages for a temporary ceasefire. Give Gaza time to get clean water, food, evacuate the wounded, and most importantly get both sides talking.
What? Hamas is waiting for negotiations for hostage release. It's Israel that refused. Oh, and also, they've already released some of them, though not a lot.
Last I heard hamas wanted a hostage trade (for hamas terrorists). Although Israel unwillingness to comply seems to me less like playing hard ball and more trying to save face after letting hamas attack and take their people.
Mr Blinken said he had discussed the idea with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other officials during their talks in Tel Aviv.
The US diplomatic effort came as Israel pressed its offensive against Hamas, with commanders saying that their forces had encircled Gaza City and were engaged in a "complex urban fight".
In his visit to the country, Mr Blinken offered a message of continued US support and sought assurances that Israel would take "concrete steps" to protect Palestinian civilians.
Mr Blinken, on his second trip to the region in a month, said the US had provided Israel advice on how to minimise civilian deaths while still trying to "finish" Hamas.
In comments made at a news conference beside the Israeli President Isaac Herzog, Mr Blinken said the US stood "strongly with Israel it has the right and obligation to defend itself and to ensure the events of 7 October never happen again."
Mr Herzog said Israel was going to great lengths to warn Gazans of airstrikes, as he held up a pamphlet that he said was being dropped in the Strip telling civilians to leave the war zone in the north.
The original article contains 677 words, the summary contains 193 words. Saved 71%. I'm a bot and I'm open source!
More often than not I see one comment on a post and am looking forward to read it only to discover it's a bot comment which I'm never interested in reading. If I'd be interested in TLDR's of articles I'd just install some browser extension for it.
At least I'd hope that comments marked as made by bots would not count into the comment count.
The majority of the current Palestinian population was not even born in 2006, so I don't see how a vote then is really relevant. Hamas, like many others around the world, has edged to authoritarian rule, and given the internal divisions preceding this conflict, Israeli citizens are equally concerned the current government there is also trundling down the same path.
Yeah, 40% of themâŚ. 20 fucking years ago. They all deserve to die I guess for that mistake, especially all the people who werenât even alive or old enough to vote. They definitely shouldâve thought twice about voting for Hamas.
I know that if America ever chose a president that lost the popular vote and then refused to leave office and then sparked a conflict with a more powerful country, all Americans would definitely deserve to die in that conflict and all future conflicts with that country for the rest of time, even if they didnât vote for that president. Even if their parents and grandparents didnât vote for that president.
Not my point, Israel should stop not only to save palestinian innocent lifes but also because this âstrategyâ is counter productive and just doesnât work. They are just both bad though. Those Palestinians kids would grow up hating Israel just like Israel hates them. I had friends traveling to Israel early this year and they were kinda shocked when they learned from more than one Israeli than Palestinians are considered a problem and that they have âalmost finishedâ with them. I know exactly how shitty they are
By that idea every german should have died because they voted for Hitler. And every Israeli should die because they voted Bibi.
You don't spend too much time thinking, do you?
What gave you that idea? OP was merely observing that Hamas governing Gaza has caused the Gazan people a lot of pain. During ww2, almost 10% of the Germans died, one way another. The Nazis caused much pain and destruction to Europe, but also to the German people (which admittedly does have similarities to Hamas now).
