What did you do during the war?

Not just any Nazgûl, Merry. The Witch-King of Angmar.

Frodo didn't destroy the One Ring, though. Gollum did that accidentally.
He delivered the goods. Gig work is real work.
He persuaded the tree beard to destroy Saruman base, that’s huge
And he lit the beacons to bring Rohan to Pelenor Fields, without which Minas Tirith would have fallen
Only in the movies, though.
Tricked
One Took to teamkill them all.
when did pippen kill ...anything?
with his singing?
or his constant bickering for food and weed?
orrr are we attributing Gandalf the Grey's fall with durins bane due to pippen shoving the armor down the well?
are we attributing Gandalf the Grey’s fall with durins bane due to pippen shoving the armor down the well?
That is exactly what we are doing :)
What's the first image? I can't remember how ROTK portrays the hobbits' return to the Shire, other than general disappointment, but this looks a little like they might have filmed the Scouring of the Shire and then scrapped it.
I can't find anything solid, but old posts of it seem to consistently say it's just a promo photo. They are wearing these costumes for a brief shot upon them first riding back into the Shire
The film (including the extended edition) cuts the Scouring altogether. I personally think it was the right choice for the film, which already feels a bit like it ends several times. Great addition to the book for how it shows the change the journey has made on the characters, but a sensible change when adapting to another medium in my opinion
It bothers me that only the last one is in 3rd person. I don’t even watch lotr
I was trying to work out what you meant by this. The last frame is a continuation of the comment above the 4th hobbit.
Ooos I’m dumb. In my defense, all the characters kinda look the same
Let's be honest Samwise did most of the work and probably could have got to mount doom quicker without all the extra baggins to carry.
Frodo and Sam is such a great story of the power of friendship and loyalty, why turn them against each other? Sam would not have made it without Frodo any more than Frodo would have made it without Sam.
Even if we must compare, Sam struggled to give the ring back after just a short time carrying it when Shelob paralyzed Frodo. Meanwhile Frodo offered it to Galadriel after owning it for decades, carrying it halfway across Middle Earth, and losing his primary mentor in the endeavor to destroy it. He showed extraordinary strength of will, and ignoring both that and the strength of the friendship he and Sam shared is a dumpster-tier take.
\ → Frodo carried the Ring.
\ → Frodo carried the Ring. Well sighing dramatically.
\ → Frodo carried the Ring. Well whining about how Gollum "gets him".
\ → Frodo carried the Ring. Barely.
\ → Frodo carried the ring. Got poisoned and swaddled by a spider.
\ → Frodo carried the ring. Nearly lost the ring and got himself captured.
\ → Frodo carried the Ring (while Sam carried Frodo).
\ → Frodo carried the ring. Than literally claimed the Ring for himself at the finish line.
\ → Frodo reverted to being useless after he couldn't carry the ring. So he sat there like a broken po-tat-o.
\ → Frodo was a rich guy’s spoiled nephew who spent his youth reading poetry and skipping stones at the lake.
Frodo was less "Ring-bearer" and more glorified emotional support backpack with trust issues.
\ Sam did everything. Frodo just carried the Ring and even that nearly broke him.
If the fate of Middle-earth were an Uber ride, Frodo was the guy crying in the backseat while Sam navigated, paid the tolls, and punched a spider.
Yes but they were also closer to Barad-Dûr when Sam had the ring but also Sauron's powers were stronger.
But you're right : none would have made it without the other one.
However, Frodo did not destroy the one ring. Smeagol did. We could even argue that the ring destroyed itself. But Frodo did no such thing : he only carried the ring to Mt Doom.
Baggins's*
And let's be honest,
SmeagolGollum destroyed the Ring. Frodo failed 😐
