42% of Australians favor close economic ties with the U.S. and a considerably larger share (53%) place more importance on ties with China
In Australia, Japan and the U.S., by contrast, people most frequently name China as the country posing the greatest threat to their own.

We're spending close to $30 billion a year to protect our trade with China from China and that doesn't strike anyone at this table as odd?
- A lot of Australians think that China is "threatening" Australia by trading with us, or trying to "trick" us by trading with us, so we let our guard down or something. It's just pure Orientalism. And it isn't just racist shitheads thinking this stuff either, a lot of friend of a friend libs of mine, who would probably consider themselves "progressive" sound like a frothing at the mouth Nazi when it comes to China. I fucking hate it.
  
  They're also bullying us when they don't trade with us (lobsters, wine, coal, tourism, students).

The speed that sentiment is changing in Australia has been pretty shocking tbh. It's great to see.

  And in the Philippines there's an ongoing history of extremely active suppression of even mildly leftist groups and individuals, beyond what you see even in the RoK.
Wtf is wrong with people?
- Who will make better overall choices:
  a) Highly educated person with a long career in political leadship. Favours using legal pressure and economic power to resolve international disputes and has a track record of avoiding war.
  b) Extremely fragile and unstable buffoon, openly disregarding of international law and treaty obligations. Primary policy objective is to harm major trade partners and allies for to boost ideologically motivated rhetoric at the expense of long term economic performance. Also favours increasing militarisation and has threated two (2) steadfast allies with annexation.

- Fascist propaganda is so pervasive it's not surprising to see Brazilians thinking Xi is worse than Amerikkkan presidents.
- Xi being ahead in Canada is wild to me, but based on how low both numbers are, it could just be because Trump has been so aggressive toward Canada specifically and their top politicians have made an anti-cult-of-personality around him.
- Of course 69% of Israelis support Trump
kenya having the exact same confidence in both xi and trump is so funny
- And Nigeria loves both but really loves trump
Inshallah this breaks the mental shackles blocking revolutionary organization in so much of the Global South
