OpenAI declares AI race “over” if training on copyrighted works isn’t fair use

  • This has always been the issue with AI training in general. We're just hitting a point where it's more out in the open.

Want AI, corporate America? It's easy! Lobby to eliminate copyright protections.

What's that? You still want to sell private access to the systems trained on copyrighted works?

    There's the rub.

  • Well what would happen if anyone else plagiarized copyrighted works? I've seen people get locked away for piracy even. Remember what became of Aaron Swartz? Why the fuck should these people get special treatment now?
