I just discovered that the girl at the deli last night gave me 2 kranskys but put them through as 1. Free sausaaaaaaage!!

Meanwhile when I offer people a free sausage, it's rarely met with a positive reaction.
- Well, kranskys are delicious; you can get any old, wrinkled sausage at Bunnings but it won't be a kransky 😅

I know I'm not built to have kids, when I see them on the train and feel a visceral disgust for them, their disrespect, and their immature brains. I'm sure they will grow up to be fine, but kids are so disrespectful on PT.

Kudos to anyone who has raised/is raising kids, but that clusterfuck ain't for me.

Edit: thinking about it, it may be due to the intense, abusive bullying I was subject to in school, and now I entirely distrust every child over 10 and under 18. Hm. Trauma is certainly pervasive in my life and affects my attitude.

Controversial take, but I hold so much space for kids in that age range. Being a teen/tween fucking sucks. School (feels at the time like it) sucks. Puberty sucks. Bullying sucks. Coming from a poor family or shitty home dynamic sucks. Not sleeping properly and getting up early for public transport to school sucks.
So, fuck yeah, do your TikTok dances, listen to music on speakerphone, drink your huge Slurpee, and take up a seat instead of giving it up to an adult that has probably sat on a wheelie chair all day. Just do your best.
- I do agree with this, the world is shit and the kids will cop the brunt of it when we're dead. I love their silly trends and dances tbh. Have fun in the dark world.
  I think it's a me problem 100%. On some level possibly resentful(?) because they're generally in groups of friends, which I lacked. But it's not their fault, and I know better than to lose my shit when I realise my feelings are my own, and that I'm just making generalisations about persons I don't know.
I think I have the same initial reaction due to bullying, with a particular distaste for teenage girls. But I can attest to the fact that not all kids are disrespectful on PT. Last time I went into the CBD on a train I got on at the same time as a group of school boys. I was prepared for noise and rumbunctiousness, but instead got to over hear them earnestly discussing how to determine when the train had reached the appropriate level of crowding that they should stand up and leave their seats for adults to sit down 🤣

  And yeah I think it's just my initial reaction but my second thought is that they're fine/most kids are good. I hate when they run in front of me, but also I remember being that age and either not having awareness of my surroundings or feeling particularly rebellious.
I feel pretty much the same, despite the fact I'm still a child. There's honestly a little bit of fear every time a large group gets on my bus/train/tram, and I avoid travelling at school times when at all possible. A group of two dozen 12 years olds vaping and trying to start a brawl on a bus is not fun
On a similar note, I did not use the school toilets a single time between grades 3 and year 10. Fucking traumatic, and a large part of the reason I seek out unisex/single person toilets with proper walls, or a quieter one with multiple stalls when possible
- School bathrooms were utterly atrocious in the 2000s, and they still are.
  When I was a kid, I intensely disliked being around other kids. School was fucked, the only people i liked were the teachers. The kids didn't like me either, and I think latched on to any visual oddity to bully me, but I think they knew I was different. Not special or anything, but had experienced trauma in ways they had not, and I was different bc of that.
  It took me 20 years to understand why I hated going to Nan and Pops (mum's parents. Thanks repressed memories), and bc that trauma happened so young, I knew things other kids didn't.
  Like I said, I'm not special or superior bc of trauma. But it does change a child. There's something about traumatised children that is obvious to other kids, but they cannot articulate it.
  Bathrooms are the worst. I want to throw up with anxiety when I have to use the flinders bathrooms. And pub bathrooms scare me as well.

I have had two friends recently get into accidents where they were going through a roundabout and someone did not give way and slammed out into them - one on a bike and one in a car with family. I really think we are not ok out there, just go carefully and watch out.

I try and be extra careful going into one and also while going around inside.

Not a huge veg guy, but cause it was all mixed in with some chorizo and chicken it was amazing. Woke up still thinking about it this morning. Didn't even follow a recipe, just took some inspiration from a YouTube video and made some changes.

I don't have para social relationships with celebrities, I just really enjoy reading about their shenanigans and weirdness. They're humans too, elevated on pedestals, and it's interesting to see what humans do when they are so rich and famous.

This whole David Grohl cheating scandal is delicious. People who elevated him to the position of "one of the good ones" (alongside Keanu and Pierce Brosnan, maybe Jack Black too), are losing their minds that he not only cheated, but now has a baby on the way with the other woman.

People are taking bets on how old the other woman is, with the running theory she's in her early-mid 20s.

It's just so entertaining to me. No one is so good, or will always be so good, not will they always remain bad. They're humans trying to navigate having their lives out in the open, with every minute action critised or admonished.

Anyway, I'm all here for the juicy drama. If I had to place a bet, I reckon the other woman is 25. David is 55, prime time for a midlife crisis and to try and wet his dick with someone younger.

- I don’t pay until I’ve closely inspected the job they’ve done, usually 1 or 2 days later depending on what the work is. Cos they ain’t coming back once they’ve been paid. I learned this the hard way. And I need more than 3 hours on a a work day to do what I need to do to be satisfied of a job well done.

39 dollar bra may be too good to be true but it's in my damned size and at 10I I'm sick of dropping multiple hundreds so I'll take the risk

I hate bra shopping, loathe it completely and utterly. The best bra I bought, was back in the early 2010s. I'd gone to to the CBD for a short course, and in my rush I forgot to put a bra on (idk how I swear). I ran to target and the only one in my size (10DD) was this bright red one. And I had it for years, it was perf. Underwrite broke though. Since losing weight, I have no idea what my size is anymore, I use the bond sport bras, that are just elastic fabric.
I don't envy you, it's one of the shittiest things people with boobs have to do; find a fucking bra that will fit and won't fall apart after a fkn week.

I’m wondering if I should spray a stinky orange cleaner or repellent around outside to discourage the visiting cats. I like them but Melbcat gets really stressed out and being an indoor kitty could feel like she’s trapped with threats outside.

I just know orange oil and other essential oils/ strong scents are an asthma trigger and might waft back inside 🤔

Today’s protests are hypocritical. Protesting violence with violence? Some of those interviewed seemed to think what they were doing was ok because they believe they have moral superiority and therefore assaulting people attending the expo is ok? Hmm where have I heard that before.

I'm sure there were some genuine decent protesters there but so many were disgusting animals.

Plumbers at my place today fixing the cause of my recent sewer pipe blockages, costing me a pretty penny but I have no choice. Hate forced spending of money on property maintenence, and especially on something I won't be able to see. Backyard is being dug up to replace an underground pipe, some plants had to get pulled out which is annoying. Didn't have the best sleep and they turned up so early so I'll be knocking back a few coffees to get through today.

They're both called exhibition just for funsies. It's at Jeff's Shed, the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre if we're being formal.

Crowds outside the Land Forces expo have now shrunk to a few hundred from their initial thousands this morning.
ABC reporter Jess Longbottom is at the protest, and says demonstrators have mainly split into two groups — one in front of Crown Casino, and one on the north side of the Spencer St bridge.

ABC reporter Natalie Whiting is on the ground at the protest and says protestors on the Batman Park side of the bridge have largely pulled back.
"They have said they are assessing and recouping before deciding whether they will return this afternoon or wait until tomorrow," Whiting says.
"There is still a group of protestors gathered on the other side of the river, closer to the convention centre."

Hmm, I thought they still offered it? I remember the reduced/limited the amount you could have without a credit check a little while back.
Don't believe so, you can still use it at places that offer it. Pretty sure they expanded the service to also work as a Visa card so you can technically use it anywhere, not just at retailers that offer it (no idea if there's extra costs involved in that though).
Zip is still around, they launched a new product fairly recently.

Hehe, TIL I can hear NFC through my headphone cable

I had my headphones plugged into the cable from my PC, but was also using my phone when I started hearing a series of clicks and then a short high pitched squeak. Played around with airplane mode and eventually narrowed it down to the NFC. That's pretty cool!

Now I'm tempted to go chuck some data on an NFC tag and see if I can hear the data 🤔

Probably a bad idea, could end up being super loud or something. Who knows. Anyway I'm bad at resisting bad ideas, will be back later with a status update

I did it! It wasn't super loud, even on max volume. It's super cool. Also TIL my NFC tags have a size of ~500 bytes
I thought there was something wrong with my wired earbuds I plug in to my laptop, because I was hearing clicks in them at random times. Turns out I was because I was putting my phone back down on the cables. I always theorised it was my phone trying to charge itself wirelessly, but it definitely makes more sense if it's NFC related.
