X (fka Twitter) has quietly redesigned its 🔫 Water Pistol emoji to display as a firearm. This diverges from the cross-platform conversion of this emoji from firearm to water pistol from 2016 to 2018.
the X engineer responsible for the change ... stated that this design is "not the final design (going to make it look more badass)"
incidentally this engineer is a fascist weeb who complains about gay characters in TV shows and bragged about getting trans flags removed from a grocery store by leaving a negative google review

curiously this chud says the emoji was "returned back into its rightful form: an m1911" when it never was an M1911 in the first place, it used to be a revolver
Yeah, making it a water gun was some over sensitive shit. And it’s just completely out of spec as Unicode intends for it to be a hand gun.
Apple just decided they didn’t like that emoji and substituted their own. Apparently they later pressured Unicode not to add a rifle emoji.
I remember when every company changed the emotes to the water gun. Everyone made fun of them.
Guns should be treated the same way cigarettes are. If you want to reduce their use, you must make them uncool. Branding, packaging and the like should all be disallowed. Advertising should be disallowed. They shouldn't be in the emojis. Their form should also be limited so that "tacticool" shit is effectively disallowed and guns get treated more like a tool.
Essentially do the same shit we did to smoking.

From a cursory zoom, I think the receiver is milled instead of stamped, so probably 47 over M or it's some Chinese Type-Whatever produced in between the AK-47 and AKM, but I could definitely be wrong

Wrong reasons but right decision regardless. Changing to a water pistol does nothing against gun violence and a gun is a pretty common and universal symbol that should be represented among a collection of symbols covering, well, common items you might want to symbolise. In any case, arm the proletariat etc etc
