  • No funny stuff, I was just curious how one could get a tapeworm in their brain.

You can get it from beef, fish, pork, Infected food and water, and even contact with infected animals.

This is supposed to be in Florida, so they have a lot of crazy shit going on in their swampland

  • Humans can get a tapeworm in their brain through a condition called neurocysticercosis. This typically occurs when a person ingests the eggs of the pork tapeworm (Taenia solium), usually via:

    1. Contaminated Food or Water: Consuming food or water contaminated with feces from an infected person.
    2. Poor Hygiene Practices: If an infected person handles food without proper handwashing, the eggs can be transferred to the food.
    3. Undercooked Pork: Eating undercooked pork infected with the larval cysts of the tapeworm can lead to infection, though this is less common for neurocysticercosis as the larvae typically develop in muscles, not the brain.

Once ingested, the eggs hatch into larvae, which can enter the bloodstream and travel to various parts of the body, including the brain. There, they form cysts, leading to neurocysticercosis. Symptoms can include headaches, seizures, and neurological deficits, depending on the cysts' location and size. Proper cooking of pork, good hygiene, and safe food practices are crucial in preventing this infection.

  • Look, I get it. Finding out your job isn’t valued by your employer is really painful. But if you are over worked, and your employer refuses to hire people to help you, then your department isn’t important to them.

  • Tankies say: "Critical support for fascism!"
  • I’ve encountered this one before. Their only purpose in life is to find a counter argument, and mock you for something. It is impossible to fight them because they aren’t trying to win or lose, just wear you down. They have no actual opinions on anything. And most likely, they feel like a total loser in real life.

  • [Plasma 6] How to get virtual desktops to behave like MacOS “Spaces”

macOS Spaces (virtual desktop) allows the user to have multiple desktops PER MONITOR. When a user switches a space, it’s not the entire set of monitors, just the one they are in.

Is there a way to do this in Plasma 6, or… even GNOME?

If you want to vote, you have to comment.

It encourages dialog and discourages horde mentality voting.

Edit: Judging from the number of downvotes, my opinion is very popular. My apologies 😅

What are some of the best mini-games youve played? (games inside games)

I recently played Alien Isolation, and I noticed all of the “hacking” she does on doors and computers are different types of games, like press the button at the right time, or match the images within a timer, etc.

A lot of games have these mini-games, and I was wondering which you think are the best? Or at least, didn’t get old fast?

Apple delivery drivers stole my phone

I ordered an iPhone on Black Friday and had their courier deliver it to me. They hired one of the Spark Drivers (Walmart owned) to deliver it. They said it was delivered and never showed up. Then Apple refused to do anything about it and their official response after hours of calling was, “call the police.” So I filed a police report (that went nowhere) and told my credit card to reject the charge.
