I have heard you can get (some? Most? Not sure) VST Plugins that only exist for windows running on Linux with wine and Carla. Haven't tried it myself, though

That's the thing, I wish we could just switch all enterprises to Linux, but Microsoft developed a huge ecosystem that really does have good features. Unless something comparable comes up in the Linux world, I don't see Europe becoming independent of Microsoft any time soon

I don't think you're a mistake on this planet, you really just need to find a way to live alone or with friends, or stick it out with your family as long as you need to. Just hold on, it can take years for stuff like this to be over, but it will eventually, and you will start feeling good :)
