Thanks. I actually really like it. Minivans get a bad rap but they have so much room and they ride so smooth. And captains chairs.
And me, driving around in a white minivan.
I swear this is a Shel Silverstein poem…
I was just on Block Island, RI the other day. It’s a 10mi^2 island with ferry service and an airport square in the middle of it. Very seasonal economy and the residents are wealthy NIMBY-types.
No trams or trolleys or any mass transit on the island itself. Lots of mopeds and bikes and a surprising amount of cars. We were on foot to a restaurant and approached a 4-way stop and both myself (pedestrian) and the bicyclist next to me were amazed at how hard it was to cross the street with all the taxis and rental cars around.
What a shame. The island should be a model of an ideal “minimal car” community, and could easily become it.
Was there a recall? I remember them sending out an advisory of the default behavior (and how to disable it), then changing the default behavior in software.
I’ve been paranoid to do that since I’d heard that the switch charger is non-standard, but that may just be Nintendo propaganda.
This is a fair point, but I don’t think Linux would be nearly as adopted in the business world without that branding. It’d be some fringe hobbyist thing and BSD would probably have become the server operating system of choice.
As a fat left handed person, these desks are one of the main reasons I dropped out of college.
Brand new sentence.
Why is there a David but not a Davego?
RedHats focus is on Enterprise Linux, Openshift, AWX, etc.
Are they even a “competitor” in enterprise Linux desktop? Enterprise Linux servers, sure, and I suppose a good number of orgs who don’t want to deal with dissimilar “user” distros, but I’d think Canonical would have enterprise desktop Linux pretty much sealed by now.
Stupid sexy porkchop.
I bought my current house, 5 years ago, in a MA town a little closer to Providence than Boston (but still rather convenient for both cities).
My real estate agent called me yesterday out of the blue to see if we were considering any moves. We’re not, because we refi’d a couple years ago at a great rate, and even moving into a similar value house now would mean a significant increase in our mortgage.
I’m sure she’s heard that same story a lot of times. Nobody wants to sell because they then have to buy, and we’ve all got great rates from a couple years ago.
I switched from 4x 1080p displays for work (1 over 3) to a 4k, a 1080p, and the laptop screen.
The 1080p is mostly for screenshares in meetings. Since most people don’t have 4k monitors, sharing a 4k display in a meeting is a terrible experience for everyone else.
But I’d much rather have “one big display” than the same real estate on more screens. Much more flexible with layout. A 4k monitor is the same number of pixels as 4 1080p screens, and I’ve got one 43” monitor (TV) instead of four 23”.
My face when I realize I live in New England.
I don’t know much about cat records, but that’s usually a pretty fatal title for humans. Almost everyone whose ever held that record has died and replaced by the next in succession. Practically a GRRM novel.
This is going to be under the deck. There won’t be much direct sunlight. The deck will block most of it.
No, we have beards for the same reason. I hate my chins.
