How does instance uptime decide when to show in-app? toast.ooo is listed on lemmy-status.org but doesn’t show up when using Mlem
yeah, it is
it's just a site to track uptime for lemmy instances
After taking a glance at the AppStore page for it, it looks like direct tipping/paywalled content instead of advertisements but I could be wrong
Tipping/paywalling seems like a step in the right direction, avoiding advertisements
Something that I’d love to see in a fediverse server that exposes the client-to-server standard of creating statuses instead of just the Mastodon API
There’s no announced date yet
I’m still keeping my plan of announcing the date 30 days before Canvas starts to allow for groups to form and whatnot
Progress updates are being put in the Canvas Matrix space and Discord server if you want to keep even more up to date
I’m finishing up my college classes this month so development will speed up once those are done
there's a good bit of uploads that are there now
very cool
i also want to style it to look like the in-game one as a nice finishing touch
i love content warning on steam and noticed the in-game youtube clone can be used directly in a domain, and i immediately thought of peertube
this peertube instance is intended for the game clips that are generated in-game such as this one
i'd love to add a steam login feature to expand but we'll see lol
enjoy
Could you link to what instance it’s hosted on? (Eg !casualconversation@<instance>)
so that’s why it felt wrong typing that…
That site is so chalked full chock-full of ads that it made my phone incredibly warm wow
hackliberty.org still links to it, although it returns a service unavailable, so it looks unmaintained
Also the most recent forum post is about how covid is a hoax
Can the Vision Pro deceive Grey's perception of temperature? Does Myke truly need an office separate from his home? And how quickly after waking do Myke and Grey check their phones?
the bot is broken, but there's a new Cortex
Having a name for a version would be nice for each major release (1.0.0 would have a name but 1.x.x wouldn’t, but 2.0.0 would, etc)
if you have $5 to spare every month, consider setting up a reoccurring donation to support toast.ooo and the other things i run :)
donations are accepted via liberapay at https://liberapay.com/sc07/donate liberapay accepts credit cards & paypal, whichever is easier for you
donating is completely optional, please do not feel pressured to donate
donations will go towards:
- maintenance of the services
- off-site backups
- development of projects (such as Canvas)
this has been setup for a while but it's just been one line on the sidebar of the site and i decided i should make a post about it :P
Mastodon on iOS adds a button to the URL share sheet to open any url within Mastodon, and if it’s an ActivityPub object, will load the post inside Mastodon
Does the Android version have something similar?
Like 10 minutes ago the project was nuked by the owner
This is actually planned, which is what intrigued me initially
turns out i linked the wrong page initially, here's the page that fully describes the entire activitypub implementation they're planning
https://docs.gitlab.com/ee/architecture/blueprints/activity_pub/index.html
Yeah, unfortunately limited to self hosted installs for now, but here’s the details for it
Is there a progress tracker for codeberg’s federation? I’d like to keep up with that
I’m aiming to get a gitlab install running with the experimental option of ActivityPub support and I would love to have that work with codebergs’
ejabberd recently announced full matrix federation at the server level, so there’s hope

not limiting it to the ones that get recommended, i just want to know the ones that i should definitely test with to ensure they work :)
If you notice any spam posts/accounts, make sure to report them so they can get banned!
You can also message me on Matrix
here's my terrible canvas logo
Not entirely sure how that would work, but it would be a cool idea anyhow
Maybe a hook into Peertube or Owncast? although hooking into those might be out of scope for a Lemmy client idk
Edit: RPAN was Reddit's short-lived livestreaming experiment, which ended up being killed due to the cost of running a service like that.
How i envision it working within Mlem is that it would display an in-app embed (or native support) for videos hosted via PeerTube or Owncast in the feed (possibly taking up the native resolution / aspect ratio)
To improve discoverability, mlem would (theoretically) recommend communities that are tagged (probably via a #tag
in the description) or something like that
Pitch ActivityStream posts that use the type Page include attachments in the attachments property, for parity it would be nice to include the attachments from those posts in the Mastodon view, whil...

we've updated!
Edit (like 9hrs later): Posts can now properly be loaded inside Mastodon (turns out it was an nginx config error from the early days of lemmy)
Element is switching to use the Affero General Public License (AGPLv3) for its future contributions to Synapse and related backend Matrix projects.
The CLA works similarly to Signal’s CLA forcing them to keep the source public and preventing them from “doing a Hashicorp” (their words)

Submitted this a while back to the Lemmy GitHub issues, thought I would post it back here to possibly grab traction/start a discussion on it
