Ozempic maker Novo Nordisk facing pressure as study finds $1,000 appetite suppressant can be made for just $5
  • I honestly don't get why so many people are so upset.

I get it with things like insulin where we know how to make it for years. But a new revolutionary drug? Sure their production cost is low but that doesn't include R&D and just think of how many drugs don't work. That's why when we do find something that works we can't expect it to only pay for itself, it has to make enough buck to basically pay for them as well, because why else even bother?

  • Paxlovid: Bis 15.

  • EDF told not to expect UK to step in to fund flagship nuclear project
  • Lol that's like the same thing that happend with Stuttgart 21 where they agreed that the State had to pay 21% but 21% of the then projected cost. Now the DB and thus the Federal Government have to shoulder the cost explosion themselves.

Also back to main topic. It would be so hilarious to see the faces of all the internet warriors fighting for "cheap" and "reliable" nuclear energy seeing how THE EDF has to abandon their nuclear reactor because they will never ever ever get a return on their investments.

Why would you want 15ct energy in 20 years when you can get 7ct energy right now??

  • How will we ever get away from plastics when they are ubiquitous for safety
  • It's a balancing act for sure. You have to understand what's good for the climate isnt necessarily good for the environment. However I believe we have to understand that cleaning up the plastic in the world is imho harder than recapturing co2 since you can't just build a big machine wherever you want and it does it's job. Plastic you have to hunt down manually, and good luck doing that for micro plastics

But I don't think your example works as well as eg plastic Vs glas bottles. Your energy dilemma can be solved simply by having photovoltaic panels and/or hooking the dishwasher up to a renewably generated hot water supply.

Also even in your calculations which I assume are not optimised 2000+ wash cycles is only like 6 years of use. And I still think that's a no brainer.

  • How will we ever get away from plastics when they are ubiquitous for safety
  • Well for one: most of the things listed already have a solution:

Food? Glassware and Metal containers. Or Even reusable single type plastic containers, like a tupperware.

Sterile medical supplies already are packed in a paper bag. The ones that are in plastic actually aren't.

Medicine can also be packed into glass and metal containers.

Beverages can be put in cans or Reusable Glass bottles or you simply drink tap water. (I know in some countries that's not safe but it should be)

And honestly your cafeteria is the most ridiculous example. Get a dishwasher and use real cutlery. Or bring your own cutlery from home. (Is it actually a cafeteria or just a glorified break room?)

  • Berlin criminalizes slogan 'From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be free'
  • Tbh, the only thing that's changed is that the state prosecutor put it on a list of hate speech slogans. Nothing really changed. Hate speech was always illegal in Germany. And you can't really be surprised Pikachu face at the news that German officials are a lot more sensitive against stuff that is actively in use as a rallying frase by actual Terrorists.

But to the Article itself: I don't get the later part of this paragraph, and looks to me almost like ai generated.

The Stuttgart German-Israel Friendship Association claims to be pro-Israel, but receives its funding from the German Foreign Ministry. The lack of independence, critics argue, has turned German-Israel Friendship associations into paper tigers who won’t assertively confront their local, state and federal governments about hardcore pro-Iran and anti-Israel policies.

German-Israel Friendship associations are just that: Associations, not official agency's.

And "hardcore pro-Iran and anti-Israel policies"?????

  • (Audio of the) Mandatory meeting after Madison's departure from LMG.

    (OP's comment)

I've been in contact with quite a few LMG employees. Many have given me statements about the abuse and sexual harassment Madison endured while working there.

One of them also gave me a recording of this meeting that was never supposed to be released. This is my proof that I have talked to LMG employees and have sources inside. I post this as verification of that fact.

I cannot out these people or give direct quotes out of fear they will suffer consequences, but I hope they come forward publicly even if it means risking their careers.

I can tell you their accounts match hers. And even go into further detail. One person constantly was mentioned more than others, but she's not naming names so I won't either.

    She is telling the truth.

This meeting kinda goes along with how she mentioned her being sexually harassed was regarded as he causing drama.
