Thanks!
For those who don't want to click through Twtter's link, here're what the post recommends:
Session, Threema, Signal, BriarApp, SimpleXChat, WireMin.
Unfortunately the Wickrme app is no longer available as of 31/12/2023.
Does anyone have any recommended alternatives?
Did I miss something? What's the connection between Russia and Musk?
Got an example?
Big names like Apple, IBM, Walmart, and Disney pulled their ads from X, formerly Twitter, after Elon Musk backed antisemitic views on the platform.
An obscure surveillance program has been secretly collecting and analyzing domestic phone records. The program is called Domestic Analytical Services.
Imagine that every time you make a phone call, someone is keeping an extraordinarily detailed record of the call.
Sounds cool. They just held the World Encryption Day event last month but I missed it.

It appears that Free Speech is not Free.
And I always feel it’s dangerous to let Elon have my credit card information. People should seriously consider migrating to alternative platforms such as Mastodon and WireMin. Although these platforms may not have a vast user base like X, at least we won't be charged for expressing ourselves, and our data won't be exploited for money.
Try WireMin. They don't ask for phone numbers or emails to create an account. https://wiremin.org/
Phone numbers and emails have become prerequisites for joining social media nowadays.
Your first sentence really scared me lmao
What alternative are you using for twitter?
Any recommendation? Twitter alternatives.
Content is title. What made you determined to leave Twitter, and what alternative are you using?
I would agree. And I love those videos with timestamps.
There has already been a mass migration from Twitter to Mastodon. Since Mastodon is federated, you can choose any instance you want, which is pretty free and open. I've already met many great people on Mastodon. To be honest Mastodon is gradually replacing Twitter's role in my life.
And WireMin happens to be one of the encrypted software I've been following. What makes WireMin special is its P2P file sharing, private and public group chats thing. It's been pretty neat so far, but we have to admit that the userbase of such encrypted messaging apps is still very small.
Of course X may fail. It's not Twitter.
How are they going to prove if something was written by an AI?
