Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Across the 2nd Dimension is a TV movie that was broadcast on Disney Channel on August 5, 2011. It was only released on DVD in the United States, then later released on Disney+ in 1080p. Unrelated, but in Spain, the movie actually got a theatrical release!
Anyway, Across the 2nd Dimension was released in Japan on Blu-ray, the only country to get a Blu-ray release. The Blu-ray was never released outside of Japan for some reason. While the DVD and digital versions of the movie both have lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 audio, thankfully, the Blu-ray has lossless DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 in both Japanese and English. I was expecting to pay a high price to import it to the US, but it was ~$30, the same price as a brand new Blu-ray release today.
I haven't watched Across the 2nd Dimension in a long time, and I haven't actually watched the Blu-ray yet, but according to this user review, it looks and sounds amazing.
It's time to kick it up a notch!

So...do YOU ever wonder why we're here?
Rooster Teeth was a web-based media company most famous for the web serieses Red vs. Blue and RWBY. They started out on April 1, 2003 with the very first episode of Red vs. Blue, a machinima web series that was based on, and used models from, Halo. Eventually, they got very popular and expanded their operations over the years. They've been acquired by many companies, who in turn were acquired by other companies, and in recent years RT somehow had the misfortune of being owned by Warner Bros. Discovery.
Apparently, Rooster Teeth has not been profitable since 2014. For ten years, they have been operating at a loss. Not even their big fan expo events have broken even. WB has been looking to sell RT since 2021, to no avail. Ultimately, on March 6, 2024, RT's general manager Jordan Levin released a press statement saying that the company would shut down in two months. The RT employees were not aware of this until after the statement was released.
Rooster Teeth is also infamous for its workplace controversies and sexual harrassment allegations, but that's a story for another day.
Even though I never was interested in Rooster Teeth's content until last year, it's pretty clear that they had a big impact on the early days of the Web. Shows like Red vs. Blue, RWBY, and gen:LOCK hold a special place in many people's hearts, and it's sad to see their legacy end.
Rooster Teeth's final project was Red vs. Blue: Restoration, a feature film that acts as the series finale to Red vs. Blue, which was released on May 7, 2024. I think this is a fitting end to the company. Their legacy starts and ends with RvB.
Here's to 21 years. Hopefully RWBY can get a proper ending.
Looks like the Star Wars and Marvel Disney+ shows are selling well. Hopefully this will convince the higher-ups at Disney/Sony to release more of their streaming-only content on disc!

I don't disagree, but can you explain your reasoning behind this?
There doesn't appear to be any new special features. It has Dolby Vision, but no Atmos.

This isn't necessarily a good thing. 4K is growing at the expense of Blu-ray, while DVD is only getting more popular.
If you didn't like Part 1, you definitely won't like Part 2. Hopefully Part 3 can wrap thing up for a satisfying conclusion.
NOTE: The picture above is of the Walmart-exclusive SteelBook. The regular 4K release will not look like this.
Special Features > Extras include commentary by director Adam Wingard and multiple featurettes that delve into the histories and origins of these Titans. Journey deep into the heart of our world to discover the spectacular Hollow Earth and meet the new characters, get an inside look at the film's epic battles, and go behind the scenes with Wingard and the cast and crew.

You know, I was never a huge fan of Star Wars, but when I heard about George Lucas's petty efforts to keep modifying the original theatrical version of Star Wars, I downloaded 4K77 and Harmy's Despecialized Edition out of pure spite.
Last week, @Eheran@lemmy.world asked about the top selling DVDs. I tried looking, but unfortunately it doesn't seem like they report the numbers for DVDs. The closest I found was the Top Disc Sales, which is the combined sales of DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K Ultra HD. Perhaps that would be a better metric?
Out of the 5 movies on this list, The Flash was the one I enjoyed the most (I didn't see Dial of Destiny or Haunted Mansion).

home TV's are pretty great these days
sound bars/headphones are also close enough(better?) than theaters.
I take it you've never been to IMAX or Dolby Cinema?

I've always thought of it this way: permissive licenses ensure freedom for developers. Copyleft licenses ensure freedom for end-users.
Ghibli dubs are usualy outstanding. I didn't get a chance to see it dubbed, though.
I heard Robert Pattinson completely transformed his voice to play the Grey Heron, he's completely unrecognozable.
