  • What it is just used for prosecuting adult non-trafficed sex workers?? That's such a ridiculous perversion of the original mission statement, what a piece of shit. "Helping" sex workers by making them go to prison lol, which is the same way police "help" people with substance abuse problems. He was also an investor in Uber so it's adds up that he only cares for making money.

  • That's insane lol, how did they even let an issue lile that slip by... is it just a bug with one version of MacOS or something?

Also to fix it, maybe you could reinstall MacOS? I installed MacOS on a computer I built for a friend years ago, it was a "hackintosh." If you can install it on all non approved hardware surely it's possible with an actual Macbook. Just because they're so absurdly expensive it would be a shame for it to be gone for good. Which is another issue with Apple's x86 products, you're paying what like $1500 or more for about $350 of hardware which half the time thermal throttles anyway because they make it thin at the expense of cooling.

  • Yeah same for me I wouldn't really look at usernames much on reddit because I wouldn't recognise them unless they were "famous" accounts like the poem guy or whatever. Here I definitely do see the same names pop up often which is nice. It's something I missed a lot when going from late 00s/ early 10s forums to reddit.

  • I'm disregarding them because as I say they're not intrinsic properties of that type of housing. I prefer living where I do now than most of the actual houses I lived in because they had no garden space, but that doesn't mean intrinsically houses don't have outside spaces. When people are advocating for more higher density housing they aren't talking about building them in the worst possible way I don't think.

  • I mean it is very very useful for specific purposes, like purchasing, uh, certain substances in certain, uh... unregulated online marketplaces.

As far as being a currency for other purposes goes though, I think it is incredibly unfit for purpose. And as far as being an investment vehicle goes it's essentially a ponzi scheme.

  • Huh, you're right! Also that makes me think of a very good solution to school shootings that somehow nobody is talking about, why don't we just ban schools? If kids aren't going to school in the first place then they aren't going to get shot there. It's so simple!

  • It is so weird reading this thread when I live in a flat and have basically non of the issues any of you're describing. I know it's a cliche but I honestly think this is just a US vs Europe thing, where mid to high density housing here is actually built to be, you know, good, where as in the US everything is poorly constructed with no amenities so you just think all of those things are intrinsic qualities of that type of housing lol. Kind of sad.

  • I think it's just Muricans being Muricans, everything seems to be poorly constructed there so they think being able to hear other residents having sex is just an intrinsic quality of apartments and flats

  • Yeah, these issues are all really weird. I live in a flat with one other person, it's two stories so there's one person in the top flat and one in the bottom, they're in a terrace and we each have our own entrance. It's nice we have plenty of space and a decently large living room and bedrooms (though annoyingly one room is much larger than the other, I suppose because it is for families.) We also have a small bit of fenced of space outside and most have a full garden space.

This is in a council estate in the UK, so equivalent of a "project" but the whole area is very nice, there's lots of grassy spots to take our dog on and there a decent amount of trees around. We have both just been really happy here, much more than I was living in a house before which had no outside space, no trees or grass for a good 50 metres or so and there was more crime despite not being a council estate where as where I am now is. I mean a house is nice I can get why people would prefer living in one, but apartments/flats are nice too.

Oh yeah and we don't really ever hear our neighbours either.
