LittleBigPlanet 3 Servers Are Officially Shut Down Indefinitely, Sony Confirms
  • Agreed. But not impossible. Insignia got original Halo 2 Xbox Live servers back online. Most nights you can find a game easily with 20-40 people online during peak hours. It requires a soft mod and maybe 1-2 hours of set up to get online. If anyone could just turn on their old Xbox and play, I'm confident those numbers would be in the hundreds at least.

Allowing people to run private servers is an easy way to allow those that want to play to keep playing in an era where most games have some level of online functionality.

  • Fallout 76 Smashes Steam Player Record Amid Fallout TV Show Success
  • It's fun for what it is. It has a very positive community. Lower level players are always gifted high level armor and weapons from vets when they see them. If you do decide to play, you can do most of the game and quests solo. That's how I did it and it felt more or less like a regular fallout game. You should do the events even though you're not prepared for them. High level players will make it so you pretty much don't have to do anything and that's where you'll get your highest level rewards.

The card perk system is different and overwhelming at first. Basically good some good builds and pick one or two that fit your play style. Then you'll know what to focus on.

My buddy for me into it a few years ago. It was fun for what it was, but it's not GOTY or anything.

  • D.A.R.E. Conference - Channel 5
  • Watched about the first half this morning before going to the store. Got to the point where the student of the year's shirtless dad was lurking in the background and started getting interviewed. First, what a fucking weirdo. Gives off weird incest vibes.

My personal experience with DARE was fun when we were introduced in 5th grade. Got us away from normal class. I did win some essay contest on why drugs are bad mkay and got a frisbee which was cool. However I had to read the essay in front of the whole grade which I hated.

We got a tshirt for completing the program. I made it a cutoff at someone and made a point to rock it anytime I was trying a new drug in college.

  • Anyone else have their eclipse viewing ruined by clouds?
  • We got very lucky in SE Indiana. Drive which is normally an hour (we went to in laws house) was 1.5.

Clear skies the entire time and a beautiful day in the mid 70s.

My parents flew in south TX thinking they would outsmart the weather and ended up being covered in clouds.

  • What's your biggest scumbag move
  • That sucks but it's not a dick move on your part. Was literally talking to a coworker who did that to a friend decades ago (he's in his early 60s) and said he would basically shack up in everyone's basement until they kicked him out. Sometimes weeks, sometimes months, living off others good will until none was left.

  • Does my arm take long term damage if it falls asleep every third night?
  • I never thought about this but this happens to me occasionally. I often put my arm under my head and pillow for support and comfort. Maybe once every couple weeks I'll wake up and it's numb or fully asleep.

I don't have an answer but I'm 34, this has been happening my whole life, and I haven't noticed any issues.

  • How do you think sports betting has affected your and others' engagement with CFB?
  • When cigarette advertising was legal they wanted you to feel cool if you smoked. When alcohol advertising was legal they wanted you to feel like you wanted a beer to enjoy a party. There's nothing different with sports betting. They want you to feel like it's part of the game, and you're missing out if you're not dropping a few bucks on every game. A lot of people are susceptible to this. Most people were fine without betting on sports prior to its legalization. Only difference now it's the influence of the ads.

  • How do you think sports betting has affected your and others' engagement with CFB?
  • None. But I don't gamble. I downloaded fan duel because my buddy wanted the promo bets for the referral. I used those bets in an afternoon which was fun. After that I deleted the app.

I stopped watching sportscenter and other sports news shows close to 15 years ago. A small part of that was because they were starting to show odds and talk about betting which didn't interest me.

I enjoy the game for the game. I primarily watch CFB, NFL, and MLS with some MLB here and there. I'll get my dopamine hit elsewhere.

  • What is your socially unacceptable guilty indulgence?
  • This one is pretty hilarious. I would 100% assume you're buying booze for people you are way too young to be hanging out with.

I buy a 6 pack of smirnoff ice once per year. My buddy loves golfing on his birthday and I hide ices throughout his bag, cart, and course because even in our mid 30s it's funny to see someone chug an ice while on one knee.

Why doesn't valve release testing room packs?

For a game widely considered to be one of the best I find it surprising Valve hasn't just yeeted dlc at us over the years of new content. I don't need a story, I just need coop fun. Weird since there's been SO MANY fan made mods.

Where do you get your gaming news?

I was wondering where everyone went to get news, reviews, trailers, etc. IGN has always left a bad taste in my mouth with their seemingly bias reviews. I used to go to the gaming, games, Xbox, and a couple other smaller niche subreddits to gather the vast majority of the info. Now I'd like some advice on what others favorite sites are. Bonus points if it has an app. Thanks!
