How is food preparing equipment cleaned differently following the halal standard?
  • These chemicals are different than that of non-halal chemicals

"Diatomaceous Earth (DE): Widely used as a halal-compliant cleaning agent, DE is effective in physically scrubbing and purifying surfaces. It is mixed in specific ratios with water depending on the type of utensils, equipment or area being cleaned. Natural Detergents: Plant-based detergents free from animal derivatives and alcohol are recommended for halal sanitation. These detergents should have verified halal status to ensure compliance. Non-Ethanol-Based Disinfectants: Disinfectants containing isopropyl alcohol or other permissible alcohols can be used, as they are considered mubah (permissible) in sanitation processes as long as they leave no detectable residue in the finished product."

https://halalfoundation.org/halal-sanitation-guidelines-and-checklist/#:~:text=Diatomaceous Earth (DE): Widely,DE to 7 parts water.

And procedural what OP might have been looking for when something has been contaminated but IDK the full requirements as to whether this part is truly followed since there are Halal restaurants in my part of the US, idk if they do this part:

"2.4 Sertu (Ritual Cleansing) Sertu is a ritual cleansing process used when major najis such as porcine or dog contaminants has come into contact with a product surface or equipment. This process involves washing the contaminated area seven times, with at least one wash including a mixture of water and earth, to purify the area both physically and spiritually."

  • How is food preparing equipment cleaned differently following the halal standard?
  • It's cleaned with different chemicals

  • How is food preparing equipment cleaned differently following the halal standard?
  • You're supposed to. If they don't they are lying to their customers. They don't want it to touch the grills that were used for pork etc.

  • How do people end up winning lawsuits against companies due to a missing label or sign?
  • So it seems like if health or safety or disability is not involved it is much harder. If a Laundromat has a sign that says they are not liable for unattended clothing that is stolen that would save them. How are they liable if it is a case where there is no sign?

  • How do people end up winning lawsuits against companies due to a missing label or sign?
  • It actually IS common in the US where I am. All over in local news but on stories in many other states. Like caution Hot on McDonald's coffee was a lawsuit but I think they ended up settling. I was just asking for example based on what people can tell me about fair business practices laws and how they might apply since I am lacking on law literacy and was curious. But I'm guessing it really only works against big organizations that usually end up settling anyway to avoid the bad publicity. I was just curious how a lawyer would win.

  • What are some fediverse apps that need contributors?
  • Cool, I will try it. They have fixed some Jerboa bugs since I posted this comment. But I have now switched to Boost for Lemmy, although they have ads. The only feature I am hoping they fix on Boost is that spoiler text is broken on it.

  • How is food preparing equipment cleaned differently following the halal standard?
  • They have to use separate equipment for all halal foods than non-halal. They have to use special cleaning supplies that are compliant and have no non-Halal ingredients.

  • How do people end up winning lawsuits against companies due to a missing label or sign?

(not asking for advice, just a thought that popped into my head)

I understand that medical injuries are a factor in something like a missing caution sign, but how is it that someone can sue and win in a case of common sense when a company has no sign? For example, many companies use signs so they are not liable for theft at say a public laundromat but some don't have this. How do they avoid a lawsuit when they don't have a sign even though it is common sense? What type of law protects a customer when a business lacks a sign and allows them to win against a business owner?

  • Countries have national animals, if you look on the list of other countries' animals, you can see it is usually because they are the most common or most unique in some way.

  • TIL That the bison is the "National Mammal" of the US and Obama signed it. And I don't even remember this happening or making news.
  • No the eagle was the national bird just ridiculous that they have to sign a whole bill for it to be official. Seems like a waste of resources.

  • TIL That the bison is the "National Mammal" of the US and Obama signed it. And I don't even remember this happening or making news.

Despite, only this year they will finally make the bald eagle the national bird. Which, I also learned that they are not official symbols until a President signs a document for them to be. It is just a recognized symbol but not official. (Just my opinion but why do they really need a bill for this? What changes would making anything like this official really do?)

Here is a list of other US symbols (article includes links to other countries of the world national symbols, some official, some not made official) if you are interested:
