What is Hexbear playing during the Holidays
  • I'm neutral to puzzle games I guess. Captain Toad is possibly my favourite puzzle game outside Portal so far. Really like how breezy and non-frustrating it is to play for 99% of it.

  • I started that SM64DS ROMhack 'The Koopa Who Stole Christmas' and the first two stages are nice but the 2 after it are really clunky, especially with the inferior DS controls. Might go back to it, but will probably drop it.

Gunna' finish 100%ing Captain Toad tonight.

  • Also they all have some public healthcare at least.

  • No.

It might be better for their bourgeois strata but it would be detrimental to their working classes. The US would subsume these countries the same way West Germany subsumed the GDR by ravaging what's there and investing nothing in return.

Hopin' China's reforesting tech proves sustainable. Also Prolekult/James Bell was mentioning hempcrete, which is another that I'd think would help a lot. Hopin' for new sword technology. . .

  • Doesn't even make sense. The mirror image would be something like a misrepresentation of the USSR where the government is presented as over-bearing and bureaucratic but through it people's economic/work life and social/non-work life were expanded greatly compared to what their lives would be like under capitalist development.

Also, when would they say this inversion took place in liberal society exactly? Also, also, if they're pointing out that people are resisting an oppressive state them that's not a mirror image but a 3rd square in their little chart of formally/actually free/unfree.

Formally free / Actually free (communism)
Formally free / Actually unfree (liberalism, as Marx described)
Formally unfree / Actually unfree (fascism?, what imperial society is careening to)
Formally unfree / Actually free (his "mirror", what I'd say is socialist development?

Sunday is Gaming Day: Holiday Edition What Are You Playing Thread
  • Friend came over so we played more Silent Hill 3 (like 1/2 through now maybe?) and then we started Metal Gear Solid Integral and did the first 2 bosses. MGS1's kinda' janky, honestly, but outside that it's super good. I really like it.

On my own I'm playing Captain Toad Treasure Tracker on the Nintendo Switch (hacked) since I never played the Switch-exclusive levels and that Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics thing Nintendo also did. Which is actually a cool way to introduce someone to a bunch of board/dice/card games. Never played Hanafuda before (could probably dig it if the cards were marked more visibly like standard playing cards). Mancala is really fun, might actually get a physical board of that sometime soon.

Wanna' finish Far: Changing Tides and the Elden Ring DLC which I recently got back into at some point after stalling out since October.

They quoted some wokeshit called "power dynamics" or something. Anyway, I called Crimestoppers to let them know about this crime. A man and his burger shouldn't be fucked with. Guy got his burger but he ran out of here as soon as he got it. Probably the embarrassment of whole situation.

    Does YouTube allow user-catered thumbnails?

Saw this video. And it changes depending on if I view the thumbnail in my browser or in private mode/logged out of YT. Went back on their channel page logged in and it remains saying "You Are Not Right Wing" so it's not specific to their channel page showing a different thumbnail.

YouTube also will not stop trying to show me right-wing "downfall of Canada" videos. Maybe YouTube thinks I'm right-wing.
