"If you are somebody who is really motivated by the concern to protect Jewish life," Mann said, "you should be fighting for [Israel] to wind down the war, to conduct it in a way that does not turn basically the whole world against them. That is not good for the near- or long-term security of Israel."
You can quote the scripture all you want but hardly anyone else who gains a conscience gets a major news outlet story published about them. The quote I pulled from the article here demonstrates, to me anyway, that if Israel was a mere 5% less genocidal he would’ve held on to his post. This guy worked for the Middle East bureau and now I’d wager he’s gonna go work for some private defense contractor of some sort. He does some sort of minor protest that won’t impact anything and now we aren’t allowed to call him a pig on the internet?
You have to give cogs in the machine a way out. You don't have to trust the guy, and quitting doesn't exonerate one of past crimes, but the obvious response here should be "this person took a meaningful step in the right direction."
Hope this goon has been feeling out who else is amenable and gently pushing them to do the same.
