Given current track records, they’d probably get some mercenaries intelligence contractors with more connections than skills to carry out the attack and they’d botch the job so hard it would just make them and the U.S. government look like buffoons.
Hey it's 100% rules based. Exactly like the board game I just made up. Not very fun, kinda unfair, but I definitely made the rules to benefit me and only me. It has this neat function where I get a veto card every turn to cancel anything you do I disagree with!
Well good thing the senate doesn't have that sort of power
But if you want to speedrun total collapse of the US and/or everyone being incinerated in thermonuclear war... keep making baseless threats. Baseless in that these specific morons literally can't do the thing and also baseless like the whole world saw the US lose every fucking war it's ever done. It's proxy military, basically a bud off the main plant, is currently losing to a non-state entity and has resorted to just blowing up universities and bombing children to pretend they're winning anything.
No balls Biden btw. If he perceived the Republicans as any actual threat to "democracy" in the US (which he has only been destroying further for at least 7 months now...) they just literally handed him a free pass to send all these dipshits on a one way trip to The Hague and have them gone and dealt with in an instant. You can't call for war against allies in their positions. Many of them have also directly incited violence against random students if he wants more reasons. He's done that too though... I guess my only solution here is basically gather all of them, in a movie, like Independence Day (the movie. Fake. Hollywood. Etc.) then just like the movie... a giant spaceship will hover over it and pewpew a laser a mile in diameter. Problem fucking solved.
I'm no Biden defender. But if you think the threat is baseless, can I introduce you to President Trump in 2025? He is going to be president, and he absolutely does have the balls to sanction, or worse, the ICC.
The Hague Invasion Act is from 2002. I don't know anything about international law but all the US would need to do is fudge "intent" to make it cover Israel. "...or allied personnel" is already in the text.
The American Service-Members' Protection Act (enacted August 2, 2002), known informally as The Hague Invasion Act, is a United States federal law described as "a bill to protect United States military personnel and other elected and appointed officials of the United States government against criminal prosecution by an international criminal court to which the United States is not party."
The Act gives the president power to use "all means necessary and appropriate to bring about the release of any U.S. or allied personnel being detained or imprisoned by, on behalf of, or at the request of the International Criminal Court".
I’m pretty sure America actually has a law or something about this and yeah they would unironically. Like if any American were to actually be tried for war crimes they would invade The Hague. I assume that goes for Israel too.
Wow, I didn't know that! It still seems like bluster, though.. They would throw NATO into chaos if they did that... More power to them, I say. Do it, see what happens to your hegemony.
