YouTube has been testing a new way to show you ads that appear when you pause your video, and it feels pretty confident about them.
And with my ad blocker, I will never see them.
If I'm pausing a video it's usually because I need to talk to someone and can't have sound from an ad playing or I need to read something in the video and can't have an ad on top of it.
These ads don't have sound. They're just a static ad. You can still see the video, it just gets shrunk and paused.
I mean, they still suck -- but at least understand the thing you're arguing about first.
