  • Joost Klein: Dutch contestant disqualified from Eurovision Song Contest
  • They booted him not for the alleged misconduct, but the possible investigation of that allegation, according to their statement to the press. By that standard, both should be removed. It's the hypocrisy that's at issue, not that he might being innocent. If you claim to have a standard, but only enforce it selectively, it's no longer a standard.

The contest organisers said "it would not be appropriate" for Klein to participate "while the legal process takes place".

  • Joost Klein: Dutch contestant disqualified from Eurovision Song Contest
  • It has no bearing that the contestant personally didn't do anything. They banned Russia from participating for the actions of a state.

And allegation is not proof anything happened, it's just an unsupported accusation. Any person can accuse someone else of something, that doesn't mean it's true.

  • Joost Klein: Dutch contestant disqualified from Eurovision Song Contest
  • "Interesting" is a perspective. Something that one might find interesting, another finds absolutely boring. As a post author, I do find it interesting, since it's extremely rare that someone gets disqualified from the event. Especially since they refused to do that of Israel who are being investigated by ICC for genocide, yet they booted Netherlands for mere probability of the police investigation.

  • Why is currency so essential?
  • Consider what we used as currency before it was currency. You would have to barter before, which was inefficient. Common currency saves you and everyone involved time. Instead of having to barter for every item, which would also require you to do carry all of those items, you can just pay with currency now.

  • Are you from Belarus or know anyone in real life that lives there? Because I do, and I can tell you with certainty that people who live there have a different view from yours. So you can insist it's a NATO propaganda, but I'm sorry I will believe people I actually know and trust over you.

russia is currently a vital part in the worldwide anti imperialist axis of resistance

That is rich since imperialist Russia is the one who is occupying parts of Moldova, Georgia, and Ukraine.

You claim to be in support of Russia, yet you misrepresent them and their goals. Putin himself said he's an imperialist and his primary goal before his death is to restore former USSR territories.

  • A peace deal between Russia and Ukraine was possible 2 years ago — and still is today
  • This opinion is on par for the Eurasia program as a whole, which the author is part of. I would be curious to see if they have the same opinion of US supporting Israel for 75 years as "unnecessary, dangerous, and costly".

The only peace agreements Russia ever offered was making Ukraine another puppet state like Belarus. Which basically required them to demilitarize so that Russia could integrate them into Russia officially at a later point.

  • Record-breaking increase in CO2 levels in world’s atmosphere
  • If we are just talking about personal or theoretical goals, then sure. But if we want to subsidize the whole market with taxpayer money, then I have to disagree.

  • Record-breaking increase in CO2 levels in world’s atmosphere
  • EVs only minimizes the CO2 consumption, since actual car production (especially batteries) creates stitton of CO2. So while it's better, incentivizing something that still contributes to the problem is not a real solution.
