I don't think Jerry Seinfeld is funny and quite frankly I don't think he ever was. I've seen him live and I've seen all the episodes. Whenever Seinfeld was funny it was thanks to Larry David.

- you could replace jerry with any other actor you can think of in seinfeld, and the show quality would either be the same or go up. can't say the same about any of the other characters.
  
  Yeah I feel like Jerry was the "straight man" in the show, while everyone else played characters. Those other actors all played their over the top characters well, and are hard to replace. But Jerry just being the straight man could have easily been swapped out.
