I had a fairly obvious chest condition from childhood to my early teens. I also had gynecomastia, again, fairly obvious.. I was the target of vicious bullying day after day after fucking day. I can still vividly remember the pain the day I was stabbed with a pocket knife. Granted, it was not solely for my body but you better believe it was a huge part of it. And they never. let. me. forget. Never let me forget that I was different. Locker rooms? I would've preferred eternal torment in the ninth circle of hell. I know you have no way of knowing this beforehand but it pisses me off nonetheless. Don't come here to lecture me like I'm totally clueless on the subject.
But I must be replying in bad faith because it's simply impossible for anybody to see an image of someone who isn't traditionally attractive and not immediately think "ugly". It's simply impossible for anyone to see this image as anything other than shameful. I must be trying to body shame because everyone just knows being non-traditionally attractive is inherently "ugly". It's simply impossible for anyone to believe that everyone else would also just see a shirtless guy. Well, a shirtless piece of shit, but for reasons other than what he looks like. This same day the same joke was posted but with traditionally attractive people and it was understood that they were just people. It was understood that there was no implication that they were "ugly". I guess I was too optimistic in thinking the reaction would be the same here.
